Title: Spring for Winchester. 1000x

The new spring I got is for my Winchester is a couple if inches longer does this matter.

As long as it is the same size wire with the same number of coils it should be ok.

Once you compress it, it will take a 'set' and be shorter.  The loose unset spring should be longer.
