Title: Huben K1 mini review
Post by: Joe Brancato on April 03, 2016, 06:34:39 PM
Just had a few minutes this AM before church, so put togther these pix for sharing for a little sneak peek. I will be doing a full blown review in the next day or two.

I just picked up some of our inventory of Hubens in Arizaon, and drove back with them to our SoCal store for testing and shipping. As the new owner of TopGun-Airguns, we now have 3 people working full time at Topgun-Airguns.com / AirTanksForSale.com, so things should start running a lot smoother in the very near future as regards TopGun-Airguns.

I want to check each rifle prior to shipping, take groups with each, and not overly state anything about them. They look like a very fun semi-auto for plinking, hunting, etc.. In fact, if you are in SoCal, you are welcome to test them as well before you pick up one for sale (or even help me test).   Casual plinking before this morning shows that accuracy seems at least good enough for hunting. I need to add more distance to really find out how well it shoots.

Those we currently have in inventory are with the synthetic stock.

I must say it is pretty cool so far. It has a fixed mounted 19 shot magazine that can be reloaded on the fly while shooting.

Full-blown review will be forthcoming shortly (next day or two).

Here are some quick pictures I took of one of the guns with the case I will be supplying with each rifle.

I will be uploading more pictures today as time permits (I think my wife is throwing a surprise B-day party today, so limited freetime after church).

I did get a quick chance to adjust the velocity. More information in the pictures below:

Pictures of the HUBEN PCP Airgun, Left and Right.

This is the Huben, Cased in our new soft-case.  Every Huben that goes out our door will get one of these. Kind of nice too, with 6pockets on the outside for holding probes, pellets, etc.

This is the Huben power adjuster. It can make insane power, but keep the velocity normal for acceptable accuracy. It has 1,2,3,4 marked on it, with small incremental steps in between each.
The first shots started out at 360 F/S.  I adjusted it one full turn and it went up to 509 F/S.  Another turn took it up to 957 F/S.  I kept it there as I had no time for dialing it in. This was to be an informal fun-test. (And it WAS!)

This is the Picatinny Scope Rail

The Huben comes equipped with a built-in Scope Level

This is a picture I just took while in preparation for some "guests" that are arriving.

I wish I lived in Cali. I would be at your place everyday testing your rifles, even your personal ones. :)

Travis, and the rest that responded. I hope I get the chance to meet all of you at some time.  I am thinking of holding back one of these rifles for myself.  Too much fun not to have one.

Ditto.  I am not a bullpup fan, but this has what I have always wanted. An AUTOMATIC action, so no movement for cocking necessary necessary (Especially behind the ear).

Seriously, I think I might have to keep one back out of this batch for "Futher testing" ;-)  (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.)

Hmmm, tempting. When I first read that, I got all excited and thought, "wow, only 5 minutes from here", then reality hit me and figured you meant from wherever you are LOL.  (ahhh, what a let-down).

If somebody local to Huntington Beach wants to shoot one, come on down.  And if you're close enough and DO have a long range field, I'll bring it up there.

Currently we are promoting these as a fun gun, not 1 inch at 100 yards, but more of a hunter.  While Huben CLAIMS over 70 FPE, this is not realistic as one needs to shoot a bullet in the sub-sonic region for more accuracy.

What i am gathering, is that even after huben has made a change to their barrels, they are still not great as far as accuracy goes.  Am i wrong??
What is she doing for groups at say 50 yds??

This gun has my interest.  Does it only come in .22?  And some accuracy tests would be great.

That's what it sounds like to me.

They had issues with accuracy and lots of leaks before.

If it was just a simple barrel change to fix before  how come they have been delayed for months.

Remember it is made in China just like the Airmax compressor that everybody is having problems with.

The fact that it is made in china did steer me away when they first went on sale by mrodair.  But i do feel that they put a lot of thought into it and believe they are on to something as far as valve design.  I myself, am still not sold until i see more feild reports.
