It happens to the best of us!......On a brighter note...I hated it anyway! I was kinda relieved that I put it out of it's misery!
Now...If the darn Caldwell G2 would just release itself!

I did the same thing, but didn't tell anybody. That is until my kid spilled the beans.

Jesse C......I hope it's a one time endeavor!...I dont want to shoot the one I'm about to acquire!
Tom, the "Jarhead" in me compelled me to fess right up! (Semper Fi Devil Dog)!
Barry, Yep, DWIS! (dead where it stood).

I am sure it will happen again. You just might not admit it the 2nd time. :) (Do not ask me how I know)

I shot my Chrony's 3 times now. Only once did I hit vitals. I caught the back sensor. The last time was my Caldwell Chrony. Nicked it on a plastic rib in the middle and the pellet deflected back up and over the rear sensor. No harm done. I always put my chrony on the table now and make sure everytime is lined up perfect. I don't try for 2-3 inches over the sensors anymore either. About 6 inches is good enought, lol

Charles....That's funny man!
I beginning to think that it's no accident....your chrony better watch it's back! LOL!

Yup, been there done that !! 😆

This would never happen if the chrony could shoot back. ;D

I just got that very same model, LOL. I think I'm going to find myself a nice piece of scrap acrylic for a ballistic shield! :P
-
They still kinda work , just have to know what fps it takes to do a certain amount of damage to the crony:)
-
Shhh...it happens! Last time I tried to use a printer at home (5 years ago) it didn't survive. Have shot Chrony's once or twice but never square in the face!

I'm waiting for the new Caldwell I liked at the Shot Show. (I liked it so much, I did a mini-review right there and then)
I'll call to see if they came in yet. I need a new shooting bag anyway. Will post if you guys are interested.
I borrowed Ron's Caldwell, which was a generation older, and liked it very much. This looks awesome:

;D I just can't bring myself to shoot my chrony but that Caldwell G2 looks way cool fot the Man cave and keep the other for range days

Late 1970's early 1980's
Oehler(spelled wrong I think)
made the first inexpensive $300
home chronograph
They had the good sense to make the SKYSCREENS(which the pellet had to be shot over)
replaceable and just $10
Yeah I shot at least 4 over a couple of years-the first screen had to a several feet from the muzzle blast and the second screen had to be maybe 10 feet farther away
Well still making excuses for my less than exact shooting

I have yet to shoot mine but, when I do I hope I center punch it like you did. Nice shooting. When is open season on these things anyway? I like to keep things legal, you know.
