Hey everybody I would like to know how to adjust a air arms Pro Sport trigger. The reason why I want to know is because my first stage seems like it's very long and maybe it's me but I cannot feel no crisp break into the second stage. Now I know that they all say that it should break like glass but I never broken glass with my hand so I wouldn't know. Also can you tell me what to look for or what do you guys look for in your first stage and second stage and how do or how can I get to that without taking her apart? Thank you. Oh also is there anything that I should know besides the basics of airgun care and maintenance about the prosport? And is there a general consensus of the type of pellets you guys are using. Such as is the majority of you guys using the 4.52 Red Label jsb or the h n Field Target trophy or heavy pellets like Barracuda or Kodiak match

Though for a small fee, and shipping, some of the tuners around here can make that trigger one you will compare every other trigger to. Charlie DaTuna did beautiful work on mine installing a gold blade. Setting was crisp with an audible click at the end of the 1st stage, then a simple pull off on the 2nd. Beautiful.

I believe first and second stages can be adjusted without removing the trigger guard. Difficulty of pull does require trigger guard removal but no further disassembly. Caution - cocking with trigger guard removed places excess strain on the front stock mount screws. It is best to find a way to retain the stock before cocking. I use the trigger guard bolt through a washer to hold a socket. This holds the action securely in the stock and gives room to adjust difficulty of pull.

Simply stated, it appears from your description, the first stage screw may be turned in too far. That screw should bring the sear just to the breaking point before the second stage screw touches the sear arm and makes the gun ready to fire.
Turn the second stage screw all the way out. Load a pellet and try the shot. If the gun does shoot, it pretty much confirms the first stage screw is in too far. You can back off the first stage so there is a little take up if you like, but make sure it still fires, don't go out too far. Then begin turning in the second stage screw until you feel it takes hold just before the gun fires, all the while loading a pellet and pointing the gun in a safe shooting direction. Adjust the second stage screw so that it is not too sensitive. Remember you are bringing the sear arm very close to the breaking point with the first stage and just finishing the job with the second.

I never was too satisfied with my TX200 trigger (same as your Prosport). I finally took my trigger apart and slicked it up using instructions I found on the net. I also installed a different trigger blade from Rowan Engineering (personal choice on the blade). After doing this I am now 100% satisfied with my trigger. I was a little down on it before this. It was well worth the hour or so it took me. The only reason it took so long as I had to figure it all out. Just some trial and error putting it back together. 4 years ago I suffered severe never damage in my right hand and it as at best 50%. So things like this are difficult for me when I only have one good hand. So to say if I can do it you can too. I now have a perfect 2 Stage trigger with a long first stage (I like a fairly long first stage myself).

I see no postings for a while but wanted to add this in as the Pro Sport trigger adjustment seems to have more than a few perplexed.
On getting my Pro sport new the trigger was basically hanging, no feel and no 2nd stage. Just gingerly trying to feel the 2nd stage and the gun would fire with no feel whatsoever. Made me jump a few times and dangerous to boot. Checked the manual, took the trigger guard off and found the trigger weight pull at the back of the trigger. Turned the Allen bolt in quarter turn at a time until I got a clean first stage and a definite stop before my second stage kicked in. What a relief, and nearly two full turns clockwise to make it safe. I guess it just needed some weight to fix it.. Nice trigger now.
