Well I replaced the bent .177 barrel on the Tac-1. I would have just straightened it but couldn't find a pellet that would seat well in it. All were loose and I tried a few to say the least. I put an old style ( Pre -2012) Crosman .22 barrel on it , checked the side play and tightened it down. Nice tight seat to the pellets now, and .22 too :) . It shot with out any adjustments 1 inch low on the sights first round, and grouped the same with the open sights about 1/4" at 10 yards. Now all i have to do is tear down the tube again and see if I can quiet that thing down it's honking like a Mac truck. I have new seals and lube, its been deburred already and smoothed out so it won't take much to get it smoother than it is and hopefully a a lot quieter. Just a fun little project test platform I will be tinkering with, and hopefully learn a little more about these springers. I might buy a Crosman spring for it that isn't quite so "fast", as it is going to be a paper puncher/ can killer. Shoots really harsh right now, if the re- tune doesn't work then I will invest in a different spring and see if that works. If it doesn't then I have more parts for my other guns LOL.

Try a GRTIII trigger in it.

I did the RC bearing trick and the longer screw in the trigger thing. It would be nicer with the GRT for sure, but money wise those were the only things I could swing. It has a very light trigger, but not so light that it is dangerous. I don't competiton shoot, so for my back yard shooting paper plates and cans it is good :) It's just got sooo much spring noise it isn't a joy to shoot. The new barrel helped it out quite a bit as now it has open sights and it hits very nicely with those. It cocks smooth after I cleaned up and lubed everything, but I think I will try and sleeve it when I tear it down this time, and maybe drop a couple coils and repolish the ends of the spring. Like I said it is a little fun project, and no big deal if it turns into parts ha ha .
