Well through some bartering and other stuff, Rocker and I swapped guns! I hardly ever shot my RWS 54 .177. It was something I really wanted and once I got it I didn't. When Rocker emailed me about a trade for his rare 36C my interest peaked.
Sure enough we reached an accord and I sent the 54 over to North Carolina on Thursday morning. He had actually sent the 36C on Wednesday, but the 36C didn't get here until today while the 54 got there on Friday-less than 24 hours after I sent it. :o
My kiddos were home today with strep throat. For some reason I didn't hear Brown Santa arrive, so when I went to take out the trash the box was here!
I carefully opened it and it was in the original box. I'm not a collector since I like to touch everything, but it was nice having the box for the gun. The gun had a Centerpoint 3 x 9 scope with one piece mounts. I should have told Rocker to keep the scope and send me that cool peep sight he had on it at one time. ;D
For some reason I'm out of decent pellets for "normal" guns. I've had to order so many magnum pellets lately that it was all I had. I did have some Crosman Pointed pellets so I got them out. The first couple of shots after I mounted the scope were way to the right about 4" (pretty typical of that pellet honestly), but I got it pretty close and started plinking some cans and the cowbell.
I pictured it being light since it is a carbine, but it isn't. It is short stocky and fairly heavy. You can tell just by holding it that it is a solid gun. I can tell you it is very accurate and hits really hard! I guess because the barrel is shorter it is harder to cock than I thought it would be, but since I'm used to magnums that isn't any big deal.
Anyway, here are the obligatory pictures of my new/old gun. Rocker refinished the stock so it is nice and smooth.

Pistol grip. It has checkers on it. I don't think a 34 does, but I might be wrong.

oh i'm sure that wont take long! lol

Dudes, got the sling and a couple thousand pellets to shoot out of the 36 today. :) There were two squirrels taunting me! No matter I just shot my cowbell behind them and scared the garbage out of them. :D
I hope the weather here clears back up so I can do some shooting. Between the weather and the MS I wasn't able to shoot but a dozen shots or so today.

how does she shoot?

(Low whistle) That's good looking.

So far it shoots pretty well. I've just not had a lot of time to shoot it and the weather hasn't been too good here. When the weather gets better I'll post up some twenty yard groups.
The CPHPs shot a lot different than the pointed pellets so they weren't a drop in for accuracy. They shot left and high compared to the pointed pellets.
The trigger, cocking motion and recoil are sweet! No complaints there! I think I'm more excited about this gun than when I got the 54. :)
I'm not sure if a 34 is this way, but the safety on this one goes up and down instead of just the push in motion. I've never owned a 34 just an Air Hawk which is supposed to be similar.

Wow, beautiful 36 Randy!! If I knew David was selling it, I would have made an offer to him. I like the darker stain on the wood.
What year is stamped on the action? It must be one of the "older" ones from the 80's maybe to have that type of action. Does it have the T01 trigger?
-
I think it is stamped with a 1980ish date. As far as the trigger I have no clue. Rocker and Gene know this rifle much better than me. I just shoot it. I'm already having issues with it-it is too pretty to take outside to shoot. :D
It was all I could do today to NOT take out a squirrel with it! He was bird feeder raiding. I ended up shooting through his tail to scare it away. ;D

Its a 1981 MODEL and it was lubed tuned by gene and it was a new ag when I got it from a person who bought out a estate sale, new in the box, it had a scratch on the stock which I repaired and restained it. It was a rare find for sure to find a ag that old new in the box, I only shot it very little before I traded with Randy. I hope he injoys it, I am injoying the cannon I got from him even if I did have to buy a wheel barrow to tote it around with lol!!! Thanks David
