Title: NP2/NPSS Trigger work
Post by: mobilehomer on March 18, 2016, 07:40:10 PM
I have written a short tutorial on how to turn the NP2/NPSS trigger into a smooth predictable trigger. This assumes that you know how to get to the trigger and have the necessary tools and are handy. As always, take your time, read several times 'til you are familiar with it. It's easy to take off more, not so much to add it back. I used Ultimox, moly paste would also be good.

The link is for a parts list for a Remington Summit.

Good write up ,and funny too
Tinkering is always good, helps with the over all comprehension of a platform
BUT THEM "dang" Gold Blades make it hard to resist the pathetic "plug N play"
Good Job!

Tommy, my write-up takes the CBR to the next level. The CBR doesn't address the inner workings and sloppiness that I do.

Thanks for taking the time with the write up, Ken.  I filed it for something to do next time I have my Nitro Venom (with NP2 trigger) apart.

I have a question about the spacers 23C. Are these being replaced by the 3mm nylon washers?

Thanks for the writeup and diagram.  You've saved me some time and effort.

I will definitely try this on my NP2, and will also look to using the same logic on my NV and NP XL rifles.

Kurt, no. They go on the 23B intermediate sear to stop side play. The 23C are steel and do the same for the primary sear.

Thanks, Mobilehomer. That makes sense to me now. I was confused on why polishing the metal washers if replacing them with the nylon ones.
