Just received my P12 in the mail yesterday. This thing is pretty cool. The fit and finish is excellent. Anyways I just got done shooting some HN FTT over the chronograph and here are the results.
I started at 20 MPa

So obviously the optimum fill pressure is around 16MPa.
My question is if I back off the hammer spring a little will it lower my peak velocity a little to squeeze out a few more usable shots?
-
I say its between 18-16 MPA im not sure....
-
Looks like 31 useable shots at average velocity of 950. SD is 8.67
What adjustment would yield a little lower velocity with about 40 usable shots?
Less spring tension?

yes less spring tension would allow the increase shots...not sure how many though

For hunting ranges 40 yrds and under looks like a pile of good shots. Lol what is your pellet weight?

Don't get me wrong, the spread looks pretty good. just looking for a few more shots at some good velocity. I do a bunch of shooting past 60 yards.
The FTT's are 14.66 if my memory is right
I have some JSB heavies on order. should be here by friday. Love pyramyd Air.

New string after I did some tinkering.
HN FTT 14.66
Start pressure of 17mpa
958,952,953,953,960,959,964,969,956,968,966,971,969,971,
975,978,974,970,966,967,969,968,967,965,960,963,960,959,950,948,950
End pressure is 13mpa
31 shots
Av: 963
SD:7.95
Es:28
Should I be looking for anything better? Is it possible to get 40 shots within this pressure without a big ES and a regulator?
And is a SD of 8 normal?
This gun is awesome for the money.

That looks pretty solid to me.

Nice string Adam. I prefer shooting heavier pellets (21 gn Baracudas are my goto) Love the consistancy, even without a regulator

You can try to extract a little more shots from it if the valve spring aren't all the way in.
Also, you can make SSG device for your P12.
I have mine regulated @1600psi and with the SSG I have about 120 shots @ 25fpe from 3200psi fill. :)

You have an SSG setup in your P-12? Oh my, please tell us how you went about it.
I'd love to give it a try. Will it require me to make the parts? If so, I don't have anything other than some hand tools.

It's easy to make it (if you don't bother protruding bolt on the back), you just need to get and drill one bolt with 18x1.5mm metric thread (check your first, this is for my gun) and the other bolt, spring and nut that will do the job.
Here is the pic, lock nut adjust preload, big bolt adjust gap.
