Title: QB SSG ?
Post by: SpiralGroove on February 19, 2016, 04:05:50 AM
Hey Guys,
Being lazy, but has anyone come up with a less involved way to configure a QB SSG -> besides the one Bob came up with here?

The next version I make won't include external gap adjustment.  Gap can be set during assembly and based on what I've read most tuning involves preload adjustment.  This will make for a dramatic reduction in the amount of work involved.

I've made one for an ar2079 big bore .357. It's an internal type  ,easier because the length of the hammer . Used a 10-32 x3" cap screw with a couple washers on either end of the spring with two nuts . I'm using an ultra heavy spring setup but would work with a lighter spring. The nice part is there is nothing coming out of the rear. I'm making a second version that will allow me to adjust both the preload ad set the gap externally. You can see n the pic that I have also removed the spacer /spring guide.
An rva from a challenger or 22xx will fit in these guns if you drill out the breech to secure it to the tube as seen in the second pic.

Get rid of the guide block assembly, and try something like this.... http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=104407.0 (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=104407.0)
