I need the forums help. I shoot indoor 50' NRA a17 targets. Gun is stock with three screw trigger @12oz. and ssg. Second barrel band 1" from action. Run new shot string, 57 shots 2000psi to 900 850 ish 7.9 cros ultra mch@800+avg 752lo 834 hi. What do you suggest? Best pellet, velocity, mods, regulator etc? I'm thinking a LW barrel and clean up ssg to remove any friction that may be adding to E.S. THANKS

Best pellets I've found for use with my Crosman barrel are AA 10.34 grain, very accurate in my Mack 1 disco out to 50 yards or more. Have second barrel band just behind fill port / front site. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyCTJICxJpM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyCTJICxJpM)

You might try talking to TomG and looking through some of his posts to see what all he has done to his
disco: http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;sa=topics;u=12092 (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;sa=topics;u=12092)
Here's a picture of his rig:

As you can see he has done alot of work on his disco 8)
But he might be able to give you some good tips on were to start.
Generally JSB's(and Air Arms) are you best bet for accuracy from the tin,
some guns also really like crosman brown box pellets,
and H&N are another brand some guns really like
Because of how small the tube is on a disco unless you bottle it or add a double tube kit,
your probably get just as many shots with well tuned rifle without a regulator as with.
Most people shoot for under 4% ES though if you can get it down to 2-3% that
might help a little but it will mainly show at longer ranges.
Accuracy will differ from barrel to barrel some maybe good enough as is other could definitely
benefit from a barrel swap.
As posted above Norm offer discovery's with LW barrels, marauder trigger, boyds stocks
and I believe pre tuned to 12 or 20fpe buyers choice:

Thanks Farmer Joe; I don't know what velocity to try for 50' benchrest. Been shooting 820's with Crosman 10.5s close but need more accuracy. Was at 2%es with 19 shots, which means fill between relays. Now 60 shots with 10%es at reduced power setting 800+ with 7.9 ultra match. What is std for this type of shooting.

I personally have no experience with benchrest but I see
you are shooting indoors so wind won't be an issue, so the biggest thing you are looking for
is accuracy I don't know what the norm is, I would keep at least 9-10fpe myself
but that's just a number for me... If I get time I'll dig up there's a thread on pellet BC"s
and its also discusses accuracy at speeds.
I would get a hold of michaelthomas he's a member here and he also makes some
of the most accurate bench-rest rifles in the world. and has more knowledge on this subject than
I ever will, here is a link to his profile
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=profile;u=11211 (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=profile;u=11211)
on the left side below his Sig you can click show posts,
Then if you want you can look at his topic's as well there is an abundance of info there,
I know it's a lot of pages but just go slow and look for post/subject that interest you and you'll get there
you might try messaging him or calling him as by all counts he is a great guy that is helping build the sport,
Here's a link to his website as well: http://www.thomasrifles.com/ (http://www.thomasrifles.com/)
Hope this helps,

HAve to go with Norm_M's visual suggestion. Can get an LW barrel made for a challenger, would need the front sight/brake as the barrel is shorter than a Disco barrel. Would give you a reasonable cost almost drop-in LW barrel ("Almost" as there is always some fiddling around to get it right) and likely better accuracy than the typical issue Crosman barrel.
