Title: Best place to get a Smith and Wesson model 77a rebuilt?
Post by: mongoosejake on February 14, 2016, 07:59:16 PM
I acquired (as in, a family member helped someone clean out a basement and they knew I liked pellet guns so it ended up with me, lol) a old Smith and Wesson model 77a than had been stored for quite some time, and is not operational. I have looked around for quite some time for anything in the terms of somewhere to get a complete rebuild done on this thing to get it functionally back to near new condition, but keep coming up empty.

So, out of everyone's experience does anyone know of a good place to get a old 1970's Smith and Wesson model 77a rebuilt? Also, finding a manual has proven unfruitful as well...

You can try TMacs Air gun service.

And also check with Dennis Baker. Also  a vendor right here on GTA.

Thanks for the quick responses! That already turned up a better source than a bunch of Google searching did (spent more time than I'd care to admit and came up empty handed).

That TMac's looks promising, seeing as they even have the S & W model 77a pictured as one of the air guns that they repair! I'll have to get in touch with them during business hours this week and get my gun shipped to them if they are ready for it.

Don't be in a hurry. Timmy is VERY busy and will take his time getting to it and getting it right. You will be very happy with the results of the wait!!!

Tony-TMac's, tmacsairgunservice.com Hickory NC does great work. He did a fantastic job on the Benjamin 150 I use for my avatar. The 150 is a leather seal gun that some will not bother with. It holds air forever and shoots like it did the day it was made.

Update:

Talked to Tony and have packaged up and sent the gun to him, I'm not in a hurry but will be curious to see how this thing performs once I get it back after he does his work.
