Title: Beeman vs H&N pellets
Post by: SD_Steve on February 13, 2016, 09:02:45 PM
Seems I read somewhere that Kodiaks, and Barracudas were the same pellet? If so are there others between the two that are the same in .177?  Thanks in advance!

H&N FTT shoot better in my guns, for some reason Beeman FTT do not work for me. :( I know they are suppose to be the same.

Sometimes the difference is in  head diameter, even though it's the "same " pellet.  One tin could be 5.51 and another 5.53 (for .22 for example). I find the larger ones shoot better in my guns. Always check the sizes on the tin or box. Sometimes its a printed sticker on the bottom will have the true diameter on it. In .177 they can range from 4.50 to 4.54

Every 2-3 years I will get a tin of H&N that does not shoot as well as Beeman, or a Beeman tin that doesn't shoot as well as the H&N, especially in FTT.  That is because Beeman offers one size head whatever that may be for that run which are basically relabeled H&N pellets.  With FTT you have a choice of head diameter when you order H&N, but I have had Baracudas that did not shoot as well as Kodiaks, and the other way around.  I never had any issues with .25 cal. pellets though from either "brand".  It's mostly .22.
