Nice find. I've been looking at the 48 for a month. Too bad it's not in 22.

Won't ship to NY either :(
Oh well.

I have a 48 in .22 and it shoots like a dream. However, I'd love to have one in .177. 10+ gr. pellets @ around 880-900 fps would be a small game machine.

Don't overlook the 350 Magnum if you get a deal on one. It throws 10.x gr pellets at around 920fps, and are pretty darn accurate. I sold mine when I bought my .177 Marauder, but I probably should have kept it around....

The 48 is a great gun. I purchased mine used and tuned with a bull barrel shroud. The guy had sold me a CR 99 well he never could get the 99 to hold co2. He called and offered the 48 with one piece mount and CP 4-16-40 AO scope. For an extra $150 I had pd him $100 for the 99. All I can say is wow!!! She shoots under 1" at 52yds on a calm day. Little recoil the side cocking is so nice. When I feel like not filling my bottles or guns. I grab that 48. Her favorite pellet is the JSB 8.4 the 10.4 also does great! The short trigger pull is perfect. I use a 13-13.5" pull on my guns. Can't say enough about the RWS48 .177 nice gun.
Take care Fellas

Hmmm, can an individual American Senior Citizen, in good standing, ship an air rifle to these no-gun states: e.g., IL and NY, etc.? If so, and if anyone is interested, I have an immaculate .177 Diana 52 that I'd like to see go into the hands of a responsible younger shooter....for a fair price.

Most of IL would be no problem, with the exception of a couple areas around Chicago. Sadly, I don't count as "younger", but I appreciate what you're doing to further our sport. I had my nephews shooting with me Sunday, but they could barely hold up my Syn-rod and had to shoot it rested.

I don't know about IL, but you can ship any airgun you want to NY as long as the recipient is 18yrs old. A few vendors don't ship anything to NY because they don't want to bother reading the laws. The NY (un)SAFE Act has nothing to do with airguns, only powder burners.
Why not list your 48 on the GTA Classifieds?
I currently have 2 350's in .177 and .22, and one 48 in .22cal. The 350 is a very nice gun and fairly accurate out of the box once broken in, but if I had to choose only one out of the 3, it would be the 48. I have had 3 350's in total, but none were as accurate as my 48 was out of the box. Now my 2 350's and 48 are tuned and all shoot better than stock, but the 48 is still more accurate. It's simply a same-hole gun at 30yds.

My first "real" airgun was a 350 Magnum .177 that I sold when I bought a PCP. That was a dumb decision, I miss it. It was pretty darn accurate if I took my time with it. And Robertr regularly outshoots me with his in the GTA 10m online matches.
My first wannabe real airgun was a chinese clone of a model 48. Soured me on Chinese rifles a bit, but it left me with a bit of a hankering for the real deal.

I just need to make a friend.... <nobody likes me...>
Are you referring to anyone I can dupe into friendship, or a specific friend? If you're talking about your favorite tuner, I think he's in IA.

Lol come on Mark, you have made friends on here haven't you? ;) I lucked out and have a friend that drives right by my work on his way home from his job in Indiana. We've been friends around 20 years. He offered that I can ship stuff there as long as he can run a can of pellets through them. lol I will get them all broken in and delivered ;D
Mike was my first go to guy and still is. Recently I have dealt with a number of great tuners and hobbyists on Gateway to Airguns: Motorhead, Spiralgroove, Rocker1, MartyB, Milo74, Rsterne and many others have offered their help and services. I thank them profusely and am very grateful.
I have been very surprised and impressed with the member support. I've not seen that anywhere else. Hopefully soon, when my knowledge and skills grow I can return the favor to other members.
