Title: Thanks to Longhunter I finally have a working, and gorgeous, Crosman 101
Post by: Airhunter177 on February 01, 2016, 02:32:53 PM
I sent him a non-firing rifle in what could best be described as, fair condition, and he sent me back this beauty! He had to replace the receiver because the valve was held in with Liquid Steel, or some such. In fact it went from a simple valve repair to a complete restoration. Thanks again Longhunter! I'll take good care of it and shoot it often. Mark

I'm glad you're happy with it. That valve was one tough nut to crack. At least we got her shooting,  again.

Yes I did... Mine shot ok but it looked like something out of the 30's .... oh, that's because it is. I jump back and forth over the fence on leaving it with all the wear it earned over the years or bringing it back to the beauty it deserves. After seeing what Scott did to his, my mind was made up. And after seeing this one, I'm sure I made the right choice. as for payment... there will be an original Chinese B-3 headed to the GTA to join the raffle pool courtesy Longhunter. Guys like this inspire me to give back. USPS dropped a box on my step today containing a '68 Blue Streak that I will be resealing for FloydLong. Cost to him? ... 2 way shipping and the price of the kit. Gentlemen, welcome to "pay it forward". Besides, I've never had a vintage Dan in my hands that I didn't respect. I enjoy making these jewels crack like they once did.

Tell Betty Lou what I told my missus. When you do the work, then you can have the profits. Until then, this is my mad money. See if that don't ruffle her feathers. LOL.

The airgun repairs I've done around here have been for parts cost only too. Okay, maybe partly to try and score some shooting buds.

It don't really help when he attaches a note to the money that reads "a little extra to take the missus out for a hamburger" It's all good, I like pizza now and then too. Plus when she says "pass me those pellets" I can reply with " sorry, you ate them"

I finally got a chance to shoot it some yesterday and and with 12 pumps, at 20 yards, accuracy is superb using CPHP's. It also shoots quite well with 'cuda Hunter extremes. When the critters start raiding my garden this spring I'll be waiting and ready.

Between this 101 and my 140 my poor benji's are being neglected!
