Had little time to put glass on (aeon 8x32) and get a few shots in before an appointment. I'll be posting string hopefully this weekend. This thing is a beauty!
-
Going to have to get a riser though, ordered mid height rings. Silly me...
-
wow! nice wood stock! am jealous now LOL!
-
Yeah definitely needs tall rings. Is yours regulated? Looks good.

You will LOVE this rifle!.... Wait until you shoot some 50 yard groups!

What power? Ones I've read about regulated are low 40 fpe. Closer to 50 would be better to me.

Congrats on your new rifle, looks very nice.

Looking forward to your results. So many nice guns out there now and I've got money burning a hole in my pocket. LOL!

So rlairguns is where I purchased this beauty. They test fire 5 shots and chrono a ten shot string. By my calculations it is running around 40 fpe with jsb 25.4 pellets. I will be pushing the jsb heavies tomorrow when I check. Plus I'm cleaning barrel tonight as well. Tomorrow will tell us the full story. If it's in the 40 fpe range I'm going to have to adjust up at some point.
-
From what I've read they are getting great accuracy at that fpe. Just a bit low for a .25.
-
I agree, I'm used to my Condor SS, which is in the mid 50s with an o ring behind the top hat.
-
Tim,
I'd like to know how much it weighs with the scope on if you get anywhere near a scale, please.
-
Right at 9.8 with aeon 8 to 32 x 50 sf, set of utg quick detach rings, and a set of risers because I got the mid height rings. I have the walnut stock option. Honestly though it carries quite nicely. Feels good in my hands and shoulders easily. At the range today shooting was not comfortable, but that was because I hadn't gotten the risers yet. Tomorrow will be a better test and the chrono will go with me also.
-
Great looking rifle Tim. Maybe when my P12 grows up it will morph into one of those like a butterfly... ;D

Thanks, I'm pretty dang happy so far. Wish it was tomorrow so I could be shooting her! We all know that feeling when we first get a new airgun.

I watched your review Bwalton, you helped pull me in that direction, thanks for that! Do you happen to know what regulators they install at rlairgunsupply?
-
Yes they use my partners Nicks Air Superiority Regs
-
Is that the huma? The one you did a video on?
-
Yes

Ok here's the chrono results

I did a full 30 shots to see how far it would drop off after I got below the regulator setting. It would appear after 20 shots is where that happened. I'm pretty happy for now with these results. There is kind of a springy twang when she shoots, not terrible, just used to the Condor. It is super stable shooting off of a bag on the bench. Unfortunately the clouds rolled in just as I got to the range, 35 degrees with an unprotected with wind around 10 to 15 drove me of the range before I could do any longer range shots than 25 yards. My hands can't handle that cold without gloves anymore. On that note, this trigger is very nice and predictable, I'd say half the weight of my condor with much less 1st stage. Can't wait for a warmer day to send some long range with this baby!
-
looks like you are getting 17 shots before it falls off. Also make sure that you allow time between each shot for better results.
-
The regulator is set right at 150 bar or 2175 psi. At least that is what the rifle guage shows, and it's on the related side of the tube.
-

To allow the regulator to fill?
-
Yes 10secs or so
-
Thanks B,good info to know. I was firing them off about half that time between. Guess I have to go chrono it again. ...Darn hehe
-
Here are some bench rested shots at 100 yards with her. I got my father, uncle, brother, and my youngest behind it for some shooting. This photo is of my youngest and I shooting at 100 yards. I believe 30 pellets turned loose at this target. Pretty sure they all hit the target. Was hard to tell with that large ragged hole little high and to the right. Wind was blowing behind over my left shoulder.
-
Here's a 7 shot group my youngest took at 50 yards. The target is 8 in target with the inside orange is 4 in. He's not to shabby a shot.
-
Nice shooting for the youngster Tim!

This was another chrono string I shot today while at the range with my Noblesse pup. It dropped off after 18 shots with this string, but velocities are closer than one I did prior. I waited ten seconds between shots as BWalton had suggested. That really seemed to help. Good tip for a rookie regulated airgun user as myself. I really like the consistency of this rifle. I have been used to the "bell curve" that I had gotten with my Condor, which can still be accounted for as you get used to it, but this consistent velocity right off the bat through the first 18 shots is nice.
-
Thats real nice ;)

Baxter, last night I watched your review of this gun on Youtube while you were out somewhere at a cow farm for pest control. the gun looks ergo. must be very comfy to handle and shoot!
-
Going to have to get a riser though, ordered mid height rings. Silly me...
I also find that the scope sits very low on top of the receiver leaving my head/neck in an uncomfortable position to sight through the scope, had to install a 20mm riser block and high mounts.
I have a proper cheek weld with this set up, though I am afraid there is too much clearance between the scope and barrel. :P, Not the most ergonomic rifle plattform IMO.

That's the big shortfall of BullPups, you can only get your face so low since you are on the receiver, that's the one thing I didn't like about Pups.
-
The cocking lever isn't in the best spot either. A little more time behind it and I'm sure I'll figure out a way that works.

I find that to be true on every BP that I own..... None are optimal, you just get used to it.

If your going to use for hunting, get a bigger plume and raise the reg up some. Or drop down to 25.4g cause those numbers are really LOW🙀 But if it's more than enough speed for your needs then I stand corrected. Decent gun though, I have some trigger time with one, it shot well. Enjoy
-
What is a "plume", Mr. Nap?
-
If I spelled it right🤓 Anyway it's the chamber or space between the regulator and the mouth of the valve entry way. For instance my RSII .25 has a huma in it. The plume 🤓 That came with it is for 177-.25 I didn't like the numbers so I had them send me a plume🤓 Designed for the .30cal now I have it turned down 25.4 @ 906fps for 16 shots and that's with the hammer tension almost all the way out. 3/4 turn in its at 930fps . The reg is set at 152bar. These regulaters go to 165bar. When I decide to shoot 34g jsb I can turn reg up and with the extra size plume🤓 Reach 880-900fps. Maxed out with the regular plume I could only get 800fps with 34g. Hope this explained what your were asking neighbor 😀

Eventually it will be used for hunting. Mostly what I was looking for was how consistent of a shot string I could get as this is my first regulated rifle. Speeds are a little slow I agree, the regulator was set at 150 bar and installed when I got the rifle. I'll most likely bump it up at some point. Right now I'm just getting used to how it shoots and such. I saw a YouTube video showing a larger plume being installed with a Huma regulator, so I know what you referring to. Basically it allows a larger amount of area for the regulated air pressure beyond the regulator. This way, more air is available to be released at the regulated pressure on each shot.
-
Well I decided to adjust my Huma regulator up a bit to see what kind of numbers I would get. Randy at rlairguns suggested that I make a small adjustment, so that's what I did. I might have needed to go a bit more, but time will tell. I took the rifle out to run a chrono test, here are the results:

Now, it was 9°F out when I did this test. -9°F windchill so it was tough to wait between shots to let the regulator equalize. I am not sure the effect of these temps on the performance of PCPs, but I was hoping for a bit more rise in fps and fpe. If anyone knows if there is an effect let me know, otherwise I need to pull the regulator out again and bump it up a bit more. I was hoping to get in the 800 fps range with consistent string.
I did shoot six more pellets in this string, but I was obviously off the regulator at that point as the fps were dropping off.
-
Hope this explained what your were asking neighbor 😀
Yes, thank you. And it's also referred to as the plenium, correct?
-
How it the loudness report comparing to the SS condor? Does it come with factory removable shroud or that an option? Also, when you bought from RLairgun, did they install the regulator and give you the chrono reports? I am just about to pull the trigger on one but want to make sure it is backyard friendly for the .25
-
A bit louder than my condor. Did not come with the shroud, they are out of stock at the time. If you select regulated then it will come installed with a chrono test and 5 shot group. Hope this answers your questions.
-
Yes, TLeVta plenum is the word that you are looking for. The right plenum volume is critical for proper regulator function.
-
I got the pup out to run a string in a little warmer weather....31°F. I decided to run 40 shots through it which is 4 fully loaded mags, just to see where it would end up with that many shots knowing I would be off of the regulator at some point. Ended up getting about 23 shots before going off the regulator, but even off the regulator the velocity stayed up pretty decent the remainder of the shots. I was at the 20 yard range while doing this string and the shots did not drop at all during this string, which makes me feel good going hunting without any extra air with me because I rarely shoot much over a dozen times while hunting.
