Title: My RWS 460 Magnum arrived….awesome!
Post by: Phatjoe on January 27, 2016, 12:05:57 PM
Hey,

My RWS 460 arrived yesterday.  Wow! I’m very impressed with this pellet gun.   :D
For comparison purposes, I’ve owned the RWS 34, and recently the Ruger Air Magnum.  I thought the Ruger was fine, but ended up returning it. It’s a bit long, heavy, etc.

The 460 is lighter, feels very well balanced, and has a nice finish to it.  I’m glad a tried the under-lever cocking mechanism as well.  I actually like it a lot better than the break-barrel.  Seems to require less muscle to cock it back.

This weekend I’ll have time to install the scope, and zero it in.  I’m just happy to get back into pellet guns, and that I made a great choice with the 460.  ;)

I have a 34 also . I just ordered a tune kit for it ,love the gun but interested in how a tune will work in it . One of these days I want to upgrade. The 460 will probably be my choice also .

Very nice choice!

Now, in 2016, you also get a chance to get a matching gas piston version in the form of the 470TH!

Yes the 460 is a kick
not too heavy
not really noisy
and the under lever is easier to cock than a break barrel with  a front sight(shrouded but still in the way)
I got mine a couple of weeks ago-
just got into air guns a couple of months ago
Great trigger and accurate right out of the box!

My old 460 .22 was a very good shooter.I wish I had it back.it would often shoot near 1" at 50 yards with crosman 14.3 walmart tins.

My 460 in .22 is the my most accurate for longer shooting distances. Installed a PG2 kit that's not even broke in yet, but find the heavier ammo seems to be more accurate, 18gr JSB and 16gr AA.

That is a good gun, congrats. I have the 470th in 177 and it is a tack driver. Love shooting it. Very good choice.

I have a 460 and 350, both in 0.22 cal.   Both tuned with PG2 kits.

Similar power, but I like the ergonomics and accuracy of the 460 much more than the 350.   I also find the 460 just a tad quieter than the 350, but not as quiet as either my NP2 or NP XL.

Just me ...

Any opinions how the 460 compares to the HW97K?

Should probably start a different thread. My apologies to the op.

Please post picks of your initial results.

460 and 46= two different animals.  460 is a big magnum rifle.
