Title: My poor 135
Post by: mcoulter on January 14, 2016, 10:42:25 AM
The barrel slipped out of my hand while cocking and got bent up while slamming shut   :'(   However, I am very thankful for this post and Tom Gaylord's blog articles on barrel bending!

I was amazed how much pressure it took to bend it back.  In fact, I had to move the hook even more towards the midpoint of the barrel to make much of any change.  Hopefully this weekend I'll have some time to test it out.

Good job,Matt. They bent my 135 barrel testing before it was shiipped. At least that's what I think. I just bent it back straight.

It does take a bit a pressure, I welded my eye bolt closed just for good measure.

Yup, that barrel slapping up happened so fast I'd never have a chance to get get clear of it...  And, if I could weld that eye bolt shut I would have done so.  Look at how it's open in the pic.  It wasn't that way when I began the "operation".

Hey, on a different note, does anyone know the breech o-ring size?  I should probably have an extra one on hand.

If it's like my 95 it only looks like an o-ring.  It's actually a cylinder with a rounded end.

He broke the barrel or the muzzle break?

I have not seen it.  I was told the barrel split.  I had no idea if it has a seam or not.  Could be the inner part of the barrel is just a thin sleeve and the rest is cheap scrap iron.  Hope to see it if he has not tossed it..
