Title: Just Installed WoodField Trigger in Hatsan Edge !
Post by: wll2506 on January 12, 2016, 05:54:22 PM
And I installed it at the factory setting .....way, way to light, backed off the grub screw#1 about 3 turns and now it is a single stage and very light let off no creep at all. This gun now has a very nice trigger. I do need to go back in and stretch out the one trigger spring as there is very little tension on the trigger (think I can do this which just a needle nose pliers to bend the ear on the spring) and I will back out grub screw #2 also as I want a little more sear engagement for safety.

This gun now has a very, very good trigger and is very manageable, how does it compare to the 3x8mm substitution trigger travel screw mod .... it is much, much better because you don't have to pull the trigger far back, ...maybe 3/16" will set off your shot, about 3/4+ less first stage travel in my gun. I did not have to file down the safety lever at all, but it was very close ;-  )

I will do my .22 version tomorrow, so far I'm very happy.

EDIT: YA right, me wait for tomorrow LOL, LOL ... did the second trigger on my .22 Edge ... and it is just perfect. I gave it about a twist and a half out of Grub screw #2 and about one twist out for Grub screw #1  I can barely feel the first stage and then squeeze on the second stage and she goes off ... absolutely beautiful. This gun now is a totally different gun .

The things that are/could be a pain is if the safety just barely rides under the trigger pin. On both my guns I had some doubts, but it just barely slides under the trigger guide pin with a very slight bit of friction  ..... if I could get in and give it a polish I would, but it does require couple of pin removals and a spring. The other thing that would be a pain is the spring that keeps tension on the trigger, I thought I could just reach in with a needle nose pliers, but maybe not ----- but I did not take the trigger off the receiver, so I might be able to reach it from the other side ...that is something for one of you guys who are much more mechanically inclined than me to try.

Again this trigger is worth every cent IMHO, I bought a couple of extras to put on other Hatsans I have. Very nice trigger Will !

Here is his email address

His business is http://woodfield-gcp.co.uk/ (http://woodfield-gcp.co.uk/)

He ships very quickly, contact him first.

I may buy a couple more from him as I love the Striker Edge and for the price that they have them on sale sometimes, it is one heck of a deal, especially with this trigger.

Thanks for posting back Will, appreciate it. Before I decide to proceed with ordering one can you tell us what the total cost to get them to your door was & how long it took? I take it those "grub" screws are in the replacement trigger itself. ???

The grub screws are in the trigger itself, yes.

As par as price his price may alter with the amount you get, so email him, he is a very nice guy.

As far as shipping I received mine in about a week or so from England, very fast shipping !, a good guy to deal with !

The ONE thing I will say is and the reason he is not making them anymore in the factory sear spring is used for the trigger pull and it used to be a stronger spring. Before you install the trigger, back each grub screw out three turns and then work up. I would HIGHLY recommend you re-bend that spring to make it stiffer or find a stiffer replacement if you can ... and if you find a replacement, please let me know !

Thanks, I get it. His price is gonna "fluctuate" and I understand that. I really could use 2 of them, one for my Webley Spector & the other for my Edge. I figure he's not selling them in the UK anymore because of liability concerns. I'm ok with my triggers after the screw fix but that long 1st stage is kinda silly. Like you, I'm concerned about that sear spring and I don't feel comfortable with disassembling the trigger pack to change or "adjust" it. Guess I'll have to think about it.......... ???

Thanks again.

He replied back to me today with a price of $24.60 shipped. Ordered one through his paypal account. He has around 40 pieces left and does not plan on making more.

I'm also going to try a "Crosman" mod where a 5x8x2.5mm bearing is used to take up much of the first stage of the horrible Striker trigger. You can go on You Tube and see how this is done.

I'll get back on how this works, but it should work very well as the bearing takes up a lot of the slack and the adjustment screw in the back is used for setting the second (sear engagement) stage.

We will see !

That sure is a reasonable amount, especially shipped from the UK.

Let us know. If it does the job I'll be shooting Will an email. I've even got a couple of those bearings from when I used that fix for my Benji/Crosman but ended up installing GRTs.
