Title: Picatinny Rail that fits Hatsan weaver mounts. Found one for $12.
Post by: Gut2Fish on January 07, 2016, 11:08:02 AM
Edit- Called the shop and was told the manufacturer is NCStar. All one word; pronounced to me as NC Star so assume first three letters are capital.

I don't know of anyone with Hatsan 125 stock that doesn't complain about the scope eye relief. I've been living with it and keep searching. There are many dove mounts but then you'd have to fashion a stop for it and they seem to cost $20 and more.

So friggin' happy right now. Was at the local gun shop setting up their network and started talking about the problem with a fella that works there. "Do you have a weaver type mount that can bring scope back without adding serious height?" Let's take a look...Bushnell set up for $100 he started pushing me for then said "This is a cheap little thing that may work. Are you sure your air gun can take weaver mounts?!?" I assured him and looked at the cheap thing. Exactly what I wanted! $12 dollar mono rail that has one screw of two for dove tail that is still round to fit into one of the four weaver mount on Hatsan. Just installed it and took back off to take pictures.

I took two pics of mount on. First shows that it didn't move the rail very far back with the weaver screw in furthest back slot. Second shows turned around so weaver mount is in the furthest back slot of front two. Exactly what I wanted! Beside myself with joy and will be plinking today as it'll be 30F with full sun. Not measured yet but looks to be 1/2 inch or more of added scope height but I'll suffer that for a quick pop of scope view when gun is snapped to shoulder any day.

The boys at the shop are off to a gun show today over weekend but will ask them what name brand it is when they get back if anyone is interested.

Brewing some more coffee as we speak and heading out with gun when hot!

The rail works great. Held firm, no problem. Get's my center of scope to 2" exactly from center of barrel. Use to be 1.33" with those low profile rings only. Meaning the rail adds about 5/8 inch.

Forgotten about putting in new breach seal and being 1.5' low. Didn't sand it first and while trying to remove just about ripped it. So setup table in garage and with small block of wood and sand paper proceeded to lower profile of seal from top instead of bottom. Sanded some, opened garage door to take a shot then closed door and sanded more...repeat. Almost used up my scrap pile of pellets with bent skirts in the process. She's good now, confirmed second Hawke scope is toast. Side focus scopes unless in the $400 price point wont holdup to a true magnum.

Taking lunch and will change rings to the Optima to finally check out how the gun is doing since my tune to it. Been weeks and yet to be able to back calculate guess of fps now.

Since you already have a rail on the rifle, you can also just file a new groove, at the rear of the rail. That is a far easier solution. It's an aluminum rail, so it's dead easy to ad more groves for your eye-relief and scope.

i have the NCStar Scope on my Hatsan 125 .25 cal. its been on there for a year with out any issues with the included mount it sits 2.5 inches over the bore line. solved 2 problems with one solution.

I also have made a new stock for it due to the old plastic stock breaking due to use in cold weather. I shortened the length of pull by shortening the stock by 3 inches. A few tweaks and ill post some pics of it.
