I called PA to ask when they were going to get the .177 Walther LGV Master Rifles back in stock. The rep said they were not going to be getting any more. I then asked if this caliber was going to be discontinued - she said "yes". I also asked if ALL of the LGV's are being discontinued, and she said "yes".
I've been thinking about getting one of these for awhile, but I'm not sure what to do now. Do I rush and get one before they are all gone, or do I avoid getting one knowing that parts will likely be unavailable when I need them.
What do you think?
-
Wow ... thats odd being what seems like a successful rifle ???
-
Confusing....
You asked "will this caliber be continued?"
"Yes"
"Will they all be dis-continued?"
"Yes"
Midway has a sale...one left...

Sorry - I corrected the language in my statement above... According to the rep, ALL calibers of ALL LGV rifles are being discontinued.

I'd think I'd either wait to see if they introduce something "new and improved" or move on to HW.
-
I would be surprised if the LGV is discontinued; maybe it's just not being imported here. Looking at this video, it looks like they were planning on introducing a new version of the LGV Master. This was back in March of last year.

I wonder if it is just PA that 's not handling them anymore? Could check with AGD or AOA. Glad that I got mine this past summer, great rifle.
-
Interesting that this comes out just before SHOT show? Also Midway has 1 left on clearance and PA has 1 (.177) and 1 (.22) left in stock. Obviously they were well aware that is was being discontinued and let their stock run out. They probably outpriced themselves with this rifle. I would not be surprised if they introduce new lower priced versions at SHOT show. It is a beautiful rifle and If you like springers who wouldn't want one. But how many people have over $700 to spend on this rifle. Slow sales = discontinued.
-
If they're being discontinued and the prices drop, I'd consider buying another just for parts.

Mike - I see that you own both a .177 34 and LGV. How would you compare the shot cycles?
-
Mike, they're disappearing fast. If the OP did not start this post you would not have known until they' re completely gone. Midway had 1 left at $532. I think it's in the bargain gate.
-
At this time there doesn't appear to be any discussion of the LGV being discontinued taking place on any other airgun forums. Hmm...

Actually, this new version has been available in the UK for some time, just not here. It's just an LGV with an LGU stock, no sights, and a slightly revised muzzle brake.

I'm guessing that the rep meant that they (PA) are discontinuing it. Or, in knowing that PA won't be carrying it any longer, that she assumed that Walther may have dc'd it. :-\
-
Umarix.de still has them listed on their website. FWIW ???

I hope this is the case. I really hope they are not discontinued, as I'd like to get one AND know that parts will be available down the road.

Something just does not add up. Why would any manufacture discontinue a money making very popular product? The cost of the LGV is not over the top, it is in line with other quality air rifles. It takes a long time to devise a very successful product. To just quite it would not make sense. Especially when they are in fact developed newer version. PA is a great store, but just like any company, the staff and clerks do not always get the right information. I have seen this before on other products over the years. My guess is the newer version is coming out to PA and the old version inventory is going to be replaced. By the way, the new version stocks look great.

OK, I just heard back from Umarex USA regarding this issue... "the line has not been discontinued, just certain models."
This makes me feel better, as parts will still be available.
Sorry to cause any panic!

Midway dropped it to $476.I now own it.I couldn't resist!

I have the Challenger Ultra .177, no adjustable comb. +25000 shots taken and still an absolute laser, as accurate as my HW95 (maybe more!) you gonna luv it ;)
-
I had one before but not the competition ultra. I had been missing it. With that gun I was able to shoot many sub half inch groups at fifty yards. I think I'm going to order the tuning trigger as the one I had included it.
-
Linoww, I'm surprised it lasted this long. I'm happy for you, that's a great price, enjoy.

-
Dohhh! Never should have sold my Challenger ultra, super smooth cocking cycle, beautiful lock up and so accurate. WHAT WAS I THINKING? Never seen one going for sale in NZ.
-
Sorry guys I meant to say I've never seen one second hand for sale in N.Z.
I contacted the guy I sold mine to about s year ago to see how he was getting on with it but didn't hear back from him. Aww now I really want it back! :-[
