Title: Receiver Interchangeability
Post by: DevilsLuck on January 05, 2016, 01:12:47 PM
I'm rebuilding my Crosman Storm. When I looked at the exploded diagram, I found no number for the receiver itself. Maybe in just missing it. I don't need a new one. I thought it might help me find out what factory barrels are interchangeable with my Storm. Does anyone know what models share the same receiver as my Storm?

The Storm is probably based on the Chinese B18 / B19 platform.  If you want to start swapping parts the vintage will come into play.  Crosman used to use a wedge on the gun for the alive jam to latch under to hold the barrel in place.  About 2012 or 2013 they changed to a short rod across the receiver to latch the alive jam.  I suspect it was a cost cutting measure.

Some dimensions changed as well, preventing the older barrel from working with the newer setup.  If your gun uses the rod to latch the barrel just about any current barrel should work.  Some have sights, some do not.  If you want fixed sights on the barrel I believe you have to order the individual pieces.  The same is true of any moderator parts.

Mine is of the wedge variety. I'm just looking for sources, and options, to see where to go from here.
