So how the heck do I get a picture down to 200mb to post

You don't have to.
Just upload it to Photobucket and use the direct link to post here.

Very easy to resize photos. There is a photo resizing app in the GTA Library and free all over the internet. But, as stated, the BEST way to post quality photos is to have them hosted online like a free photobucket.com account or just create a photo album right here in our Media Gate.
There are two sticky threads in the Announcement Gate explaining all of the ways to post photos.

Believe it or not, I tried the direct link to my photobucket account once and it came back as an error. It said that I was not allowed to post pics from another website. Oh well, it works now.

I usually use the resize function in MS Paint.  Works like a charm for me.

Ahhh...different issue all together. Every member is required to have at least 15 posts to their credit before they are allowed to add outside links to their posts. This to help prevent scammer/spammers.
