Title: What pellets are available to you locally?
Post by: GD Giles on December 10, 2015, 10:14:21 PM
I don't shoot .177 anymore so I don't really pay attention to the options on those but there's certainly more to choose from.

For .22, in my town, the 2nd largest city in the state, you can have your choice of THREE pellets at Walmart:

Crosman Premier Hollow Points
Crosman Piranha
Ruger Impact Pointed

they don't even stock the Crosman rounded pellets. Nothing bigger than these two calibers.

That's about it here too. Big5 sometimes has some rws and beeman pellets. Not sure if big5 is in your area. Dicks doesn't have much to choose from either, pretty much the same as Wal-Mart.

If you want to drive up to Smyrna you can get a wider selection off the shelf.  Adventures Outdoors sell the Crosman premier domes, a few other 22 cal pellets and even some 25 cal pellets.  I have bought Benjamin domes for my 25 cal from Walmart online and had them shipped free to the store near me.  I usually buy more than 3 tins at a time so I go with PA or AoA for JSB pellets and Trenier Air for large cal pellets.

For .177 I can get Crosmans in just about any style, Gamos in most styles, Daisy pointed and a few others from Wally world and various other stores.

For .20 I can get Benjamin Cylindrical pellets at Gander Mountain only

.22s are again Crosman pointed, domes, hollow points and Piranahas, Benjamin varieties and RWS varieties between Wally World, Gander and Bass Pro

.25 my only option is Benjamin Domes at Bass Pro but they're ridicouosly expensive to buy there.

I believe that's it but haven't checked lately to see if they're all still available or if new options have hit the shelves....with the online options and buy 3 get 1 free deals, it's just not worth the drive or time to go to local places to get ammo

Crosman Premier
Crosman Premier Hollow Points
Crosman Destroyer

I wish they had Crosman Piranha pellets for me to try...

I've seen some Beemans at Big 5 before but I dont usually look because their stuff can be over priced..

Most of the good stuff I get online....

I will be making a trip to meet up with some fellow GA shooters at some point! Gotta get though Christmas first though. I hang on for 11 months out of the year to try and make it through one. ;)

Can't say I've ever heard anyone talk about the Crosman Piranhas. Maybe I'll get a can one day.

I tried them but they wasn't as accurate as the domes.  They were on sale at Walmart for a great price, but I returned the unopened tins for a refund.

At my local ace hardware here in town ( the only place in town )  my only options are standard crosman pointed pellets which my 760's as well as my b19 love. But if I go 35 miles to woodland, I can get various crosman , benjamin,  gamo, and daisy pellets at Wal-Mart. I can also get rws among others at big 5. Anyway thats about it. Also I think my local ace just started carrying hornady bb's  ( they carry various types of firearm ammo )

Thanks for the heads up... I use a lot of the domes when it comes to the Crosman pellets. I've only noticed the Piranha pellets last week...

The local Wally World only carries a few kinds of Crosman and now the Ruger pointed so it's just easier to use the buy 3 get one free at PA or AGD and stock up that way with pellets I know will shoot well in my rifles since none of those do

Wow John. The Walmarts here only have a few types of Crosman and pointed Swiss Arms pellets. No RWS, Daisy or Benji's.
Isn't Bass Pro about two hours from Plainfield?

.177 and .22 Crosman.

.177 Gamo

.177 Daisy

Tractor Supply has those Winchester pellets in .177.

All others at Wal-Mart and every now and again RWS domes will show up.

This is why i order all my pellets on line.

the Big 5, Walmart and most sporting goods stores in my area look at me like i'm nuts when i ask if they have JSB, H&N or Beeman pellets.

Walmart does carry the Crosman premiers in 177 and 22 but usually, anything else is in Daisy or some other name brand. i purchased a tin of Ryko pellets, from Spain, from a local sporting goods store but they were...ahhhh...shall we say...awful, at best.
