Title: Fat grey today!
Post by: dk1677 on December 09, 2015, 03:56:37 PM
I saw this one around and went out with the Disco and extremes , I had to hide and follow him awhile as he was on the move. Finally he stopped in the open at 45 yds I figured a little hold over and pulled the trigger and he went down like he was hit with a bat, I saw why as I got to him with the back of the head shot. They are very well fed this year  :D                                                                                                                                                                                       (http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb138/dk1677/N7512915_zpsshe5eejb.jpg) (http://s210.photobucket.com/user/dk1677/media/N7512915_zpsshe5eejb.jpg.html)

Wish we had fat greys around here. I shot one Monday (shot in the tree above me) and also got a nice fox squirrel. I think ours have some sort of anemia. LOL! I passed on four of them today because the meat is not worth the effort.

Wow, excellent shot Dave! I can't say I have ever had the opportunity to pluck on in the back of the head like that, but I'm sure it makes a lasting impression…ouch.

Thank you guys! I get the chance now and then for the back of the head if they are facing away. Yes Joe your are smaller or just young, I know the fox nutters are larger than greys. The ones here have been really chunky for the most part this year.
