Title: XS46U Question
Post by: sixshootertexan on December 09, 2015, 11:12:44 AM
I'm thinking about getting one of these rifles in .177.  How well do they shoot without any tuning done to them?

Well I went ahead and ordered one today. I'll have to wait until Christmas to get to shoot it. Now I'll need to find a good scope for it.

I have been thinking about getting one also, I will be interested in how it shoots stock because where I live, stock is the only way you can buy them.

It came in today. I took it out of the box to check it out but had to put it back in the box until Christmas.  :'(

Well I guess it's time to go pellet shopping. I think I'll try some in the 8.5gr  and 10.5gr range.

Did you get the full tune or just a standard gun? I have the full MM tuned. 22 XS46U and love it.

.177 stock. It does look like it was shot because it had writing in the box that it did 850 with Crosman 10.5's.

You will probably be around 930 with the 8.5's, just where I like it.

It is a very good gun it's one of my favorite guns. it's tuned gas ramed dead on hits like a hammer it will take game all day long. One of the best guns for the money you will find.

I ordered the xs46u 177 full tune last Thursday and should be here tomorrow. I have plenty o AA 8,4gr. and 10gr. ammo. Lots of other ammo too. I have to admit that I have become kind of a AG snob. I like the Fraulein's. I have heard nothing but GOOD about M.M. I really am looking forward to getting this rifle.

You are going to be blown away with the full tuned .177 XS46U my friend. I wish I would have bought the .177 instead of the .22 because I would be using it for FTT hunter division competitions this year. The 22 has two much drop to account for when going after 1.5 " bulls eyes at 55 yards. I may have to break down this spring and order another full tuned XS46U or the XS25 in .177 to play with. ::)

one reason I ordered the 46 in 177 is because I have a PG2 tuned TX200 22cal dressed in walnut and I think its WAY over rated. My PG2 tuned D34p 22cal referb shoots just as good as my TX. and has more power and cost a lot less. So if I can get a pro tuned Chinese gun that is as much FUN to shoot as both my 34s, then that sounds like a no brainer.

If a tuned one works way better than an untuned it will be deadly. My untuned one shoots way better than I can.

What scope did you end up putting on this?

I have the Leapers/UTG 3-12x44 SWAT on mine I scored a 188/200 3x yesterday doing the 30 yard benchrest practice comp. I had to bend the barrel a little bit up so I could keep the scope mechanically zeroed at 25 yards. I love this gun and I know my score will improve with a bit more practice.

Had to bend the barrel on the 22 version too. However, still haven't found a scope that works reliably with mine. The 3x9 UTG wouldn't hold zero after a couple 100 pellets. Still checking the 6x bug buster to see if it holds up. Have one on my TF99 and it is still going strong.

I put a  UTG 3-12x44 SWAT compact scope on it.

I've done that, now just need to clean up the crown and get some nice weather to try shooting it again.

This past Saturday I was shooting 2" daisy clay targets at 100 yards with my XS46U .22 cal full tune along with my buddy Jerry C with his TX200 we took out 3 a piece better than the PCP's we were competing against. ;D
Here is a pic of the range and another member dveod8 at 100 yards.

What pellets are you using in your .22 XS46U?

H&N FTT 14.66G and JSB 15.89G do the best for 50 yards and further. I use RWS Hobby and CPHP for up to 30 yards plinking at home.
