Title: Got a Red nutter today
Post by: dk1677 on December 07, 2015, 08:44:06 PM
I have seen one running though the trees like his tail was on fire the past few mornings but never had a chance for a shot until this afternoon. He was on a pine tree branch with a nut and I made a quick run with the 850 and SHP's, I was able to get to 30yds with no detection ( guess he was too busy) and got a nice behind the ear shot that knocked him clear.  (2 grays were around but off my property)                                                                                                                                                           (http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb138/dk1677/R12715_zpszyimsqz1.jpg) (http://s210.photobucket.com/user/dk1677/media/R12715_zpszyimsqz1.jpg.html)

Nice shot. He looks smaller than a gray, no? Do you have many in the same territory as the grays?
We don't have them where I live. Grays dominate.

Thanks Michael! Yes they are about 1/2 (or smaller) the size normally, very nervous quick critters as a member here said years ago that they act like they had 5 cups of coffee . They chase grays off if they see them but are found in the same areas.
