Finally got here, didn't do any mods, just out of the box, grabbed a tin of RWS Superdomes, tweaked the sights for 20 yards and got a fresh target. This was yesterday and since then, everything has been done: trigger screw, filled the stock and grip, lubed and cleaned everything I could short of an actual teardown, then went a crazy step farther and soft bedded the stock before I dropped everything back in. Once it settles, I'll post new results but at least the Superdomes shoot well in it.

I've put 100's of rounds through my 95 since Friday and today when I zeroed the scope I never got a group that good. Well, the first one to see where the scope was aiming at 15', yeah, that was a good group, but man when I went out to 20 yards I was doing good to get 3" groups off a rest! Practice, practice, practice.

That target was with open sights at 20 yards balanced off the back of a lawn chair. I have a couple scopes and a dot sight to pick from, but none of them get mounted until I get at least 300 shots on the rifle. I always shoot open sights and try different pellets looking for what works good. By the time I get that sorted out, I have my 300 or so and decide what to use for a scope.

I guess I jumped the gun, so to speak, on trying to zero in my scope today then. It's got over 300 pellets though it now though.

You've read all the posts, your biggest issue with the scope is it's the Optima. I sent the scope before you posted about buying the rifle at Airgun Pro Shop figuring if the one that came with your new rifle took a dump, you'd at least have a backup ad I had 3 new ones just sitting here collecting dust. When you finally get whatever better scope you decide on, you'll find everything to do with scopes is a lot easier, not to mention a lot better.

Cool. I hoping that would be the case. I mean I know my shooting can always improve but I guess I'm going to go scope shopping for Christmas.

Hawke discontinued the Sport line of scopes but you can still find a few fairly cheap and they're great scopes. Airguns of Arizona has some, just scroll down the left side to Scopes, click Hawke, click Sport HD in the list, then Mildot reticle and at the bottom is the Hawke Sport 3-9x40 HD AO....$74.99 + shipping. Was the first Hawke I ever bought and 3 rifles and almost 1200 shots later it still works great and has never lost zero.
Those are just my own preference...UTG/Leapers, Bushnell, Centerpoint and Nikko Sterling are some other that make god scopes, just make sure they say airgun rated.
