This is my new RX2 .22 cal. I got it a month ago, but have not been able to shoot it much because it kept breaking
the Trophy scope that came with it. I fixed that by putting a Hawke Varmite 4-16x44 SF on it. This gun is a canon.
I have found it's sweet spot, and what she likes to be fed. FTS double Gold. So far I have shot 1" groups @ 50 yds.
I know this will close up with more time with her. The workmanship on it is great in all area's. Here is a pic of her on
the new shooting bench and rest I made this week. glassman98

Definitely a beauty....congrats!
-
Congrats! a nice one!
-
Nice rifle, I like the power of that rifle but won't buy one due to the weight of them.
-
I like that stock. Very pretty and great idea using the jack for the shooting rest. Should be very fine tunable for elevation.
-
gotta love those laminate stocks!....she's a looker forsure

Mark,
Yes,that they are, but does help with the recoil. This gun is really coming around. Working with the mil dot
to see what I need to do at 80 yds.Had to stop due to wind. With double gold fts, they were going thru
the 1x6 redwood I had my target on. What a canon. glassman

what kinda #'s are you getting with the pellet you are using?

Mark,
I don't have the equipment to check FPS on the gun. glassman98

what is your zero and with what pellet weight?

Mark,
Zero now is 20 yd's.Yesterday was 15 yd's. Just trying different things. Today I noticed the adj. knobs are moving with each shot. Is this normal on a heavy recoil gun?? If it is, how do you keep it form moving?? Pellet is Beeman double gold @ 14.66. glassman98
-
doesn't scope have locks on the knobs?
-
doesn't scope have locks on the knobs?
No. Just 2 screws to adj. ring back to a zero mark.
-
you may have to change scopes with one that has locking turrets due to the recoil of that gun if it won't hold zero! I've had guns that have done the same thing with less recoil than that rifle, so you might want try something stronger in a scope before go much further with this rifle or your just gonna drive yourself nuts with the scope you have.

It only a week old. It is rated for Heavy Recoil by St.Shooters. Thats why I got it. I have been fighting
scoping this gun since I bought it. Going on 2 months now. Thanks for the help Mark.

You say it has screws to reset zero? Dumb ? I know... but my leapers do the same thing.... they also tighten down the knobs to keep them from moving..... Have you tried to snug them down?

Gave it a try. Still moved. I have sent the scope back to Hawke to check it out. The turret adj. feels
soft on the detents. Not a positive sharp click. glassman98

gman, I would suggest you try a scope with locking turrets, thoses guns are recioling beasts!

I have $180.00 in this one. Would like to stay with Hawke if I could just exchange to an up grade.
What are your thoughs on this. gman

I'd say do that, I'm not familiar with the hawke scopes I use Leapers scopes and have had very good luck with them, the 3x9x40aomd.

Do they have locking turrets?? Also what is a locking turret?? gman
-
yes the Leapers scopes I'm speaking of do have locking turrets, it has an allen screw that gos down the center of each turret and when you get sighted it you screw down the allen bolt to lock the turret in place and it wont move again untill you unlock it!

Are they rated for this canon???
Thanks Kid.
-
their rated for a 416 Rigby mag but its a scope and like all scopes are subject to breakage but these are good scopes I've had them on some pretty heavy recioling guns and they've held up.

Mark,
Just got off phone with Hawke on my scope. I up graded to a Hawke SideWinder 30 Tactical and 30mm
mounting ring for $92 plus my Varmint scope. It should do the job and it has locking turrets. It's the 4.5-14 x 42. glassman98
