Review of: Sun Optics 6-24X50 VARMINT SEEKER
by: Lighthorse (Ken Leamy)

Hey guys, got this in a bit ago. Its a Sun Optics 6-24X50 Varmint Seeker that was used
at the trade shows as a Demo. So it has been touched, felt up, dropped, lens scratched
and tossed around. As you can see in some of the pictures it is a bit scratched up.

A field rep sent this to me to show the beating some of these scopes take. He knows I like
the Sun Optics scopes so thought I would like to check one out that's been tossed around a bit.

Well here it is. I cleaned it up and polished the lenses then I put it on my Bobcat to test it out.
I am impressed that it still works. The Crosshair is very fine and excellent for target. The clicks
on the turrets are very solid and distinct. When counting down the clicks to set from one target
to the next was very exact. if it was a 20 click change to next target, it was a 20 click change back to first.

Myself I like a Mil-Rad reticle, but this reticle was easy to use and most of all very clean. One thing
only to focus on, a tiny lonely dot. Looking through the scope it was still very clear at all powers,
the pictures don't do it justice as I don't have the best camera. but I think you can tell. To test it
out I used my darkest lane and at 25x I was still able to see my 80yd target clearly. This would
be great for FT @ 12x.

My only con is that it does not come with a sunshade. BUT you can get one from Dvorak Instruments, Inc.
http://air-recoil.com/ (http://air-recoil.com/)
That is the same company I get all my eye-cups from, my opinion they are the best and for $13 shipped
you cant beat the price.

Pros:
Super-fine .125 cross hair with .250 micro dot that will not cover your target for long-range precision shooting.
1/4 MOA Posi-Clik windage and elevation adjustments, great for target/benchrest, turrets are 15 MOA per revolution.
Side wheel focus down to 10 yards also great for FT.
Ocular adjustment for us nearsited shooters.

Also has:
FOV of 18.8 - 5.2'
Eye relief of 4 - 3.5"

Eyecup SE4000A Soft-Eye 40mm angled
Sunshade SS5500 Soft-Shade 55mm

Whoa ! ... the reticle wire is indeed FINE.
Any chance of a picture against white paper ? .... can not tell what the dot or let alone graduations look like ???

No graduations it is a target reticle only, very fine lines and a .250 dot, very small. Added a picture above.

Ok,
what we typically use in Bench rest ... out in the field, only good at zero range of rifle it's on.

Yes, in the field you would have to know the range and adjust for it.
