If you go vintage--
If you can find an old Benjamin 310 you would have a great smoothbore and you could also shoot pellets.
If you want a 'repeater' the 3100 would be a good choice.
For a single pump BB gun I think the Crosman 350/3500 and M-1's are strong shooters.

Get one of these for $35 and shoot lead BBs (second hand information that this works) from the 50 shot magazine, out of the rifled barrel:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Daisy-Powerline-880-Air-Rifle-177-cal-Black-w-Scope/40556631
Apparently lead BBs are large enough to engage the rifling and are more accurate than steel BBs out of smooth or rifled barrels.
The 880 should be brisk enough for your purposes: "Up to 750 FPS with BBs"...

One thing about the 760 pumpers... For $10 and a little elbow grease they can turned into serious shooters. The rifled barrel off the Mk4-177 is a "drop-in" replacement, and with a little cleaning up on the crown you can have a worthy tack driver. The older models take a scope quite well, too.
Regarding 880s- one of our forum members offers LDCs for them that also stabilize the barrel. The 880 is probably the most accurate gun for the budget airgunner, and they offer enough power for pesting, smallest-game hunting (rabbits and squirrel, mourning dovs, etc), and general plinking at range.

Keep the 880 and use it for lead pellets. I have both an 880 and a 760 Crosman. The 760 has shot a couple of good groups with bb's, but then will toss out wild fliers. I gave up on bb's, and just shoot pellets in it. It's fine with pellets to at least 7 yards. Both my 760 and 880 have tossed about 3000 pellets down range. Not a hint of a problem with the 760. The 880 is shooting better for me now than when it was newer.

I would highly recommend the Daisy 880 power line as the best overall BB GUN
Very easy to use and at 800 fps it’s great.

Daisy 880 can shoot BBs with one pump at a spinning target trap 15 ft away and make it spin like an airplane prop
but it shoots to the right, so aim a little to the left
very easy gun to load , just drop it in the bolt port one at a time or load-up 50 at a time
