I have a MSA H-30 tank made in 2009, just passed hydro. It has the CGA347 type connector and I'm shopping for a fill adapter with gauge and bleed valve. I've been looking on Amazon and some show an o-ring on the end of the nipple and some do not. All ranging from $45-$100 but the real question is do I need one with the o-ring? I have also considered building one from individual pieces but the CGA347 nipple and nut sold separately, aprox $20 do not show any type of o-ring so I'm confused about what I need.
Any advise on how to finish this setup without breaking the bank is greatly appreciated.
Follow up:
After reading a bit more my understanding is that a "hand tight" nut may have an o-ring and a wrench tightened one will not but some have complained that one with an o-ring may damage the o-ring because of the 2 vent holes drilled through the sides of the threads, which mine does have.

David I made my own a couple years ago and it's still working really good. I did everything in 316 stainless that I could except for the fill whip and I did have to replace that as well as the ninja gauge that I had on it. I put a bigger more expensive gauge on it and a better longer fill whip.
The bleeder I bought from Northshore Compressors, they have a lot of good stuff but some of it is very pricey but it's all quality stuff.

I made two different adaptors for mine, one for just filling the tank and another for filling guns from it. If I choose to fill the tank through the one for filling guns I use the a double male connector on it. About the only time I use the double male adaptor is when I was going hunting and getting my tank filled on the way back from hunting at the dive shop.

Ebay has a lot of the good stainless fittings and that's where I got some of my stuff.

It's a Drager bottle but it is a CGA347 valve setup, much more common for SCBA setups. Din300 connection is normally internal threading instead of external on the tank side. See Below.

has been working great for me , and was less than $45 shgipped :)
i havent had any problems with the o ring, just be easy when reattaching it.
i lube it with some divers grease when i replace the fill setup after getting the tank filled.
i think what youre seeing is in some of the pictures the handtight/wrench tight part that goes on the threads is slid all the way out as opposed to being slid in to where you can see the o ring.
the outer collar slides on the shaft that has the oring to tighten it.

Checkout the Stikman fill assembly before you decide. I have one that I've used to fill my guns and 4500psi SCBA tanks with for about 5 years now. It is a hand tight model that requires no tools and is made for your type of connector and is very lightweight and compact. It has dual ports for cascading tanks or for keeping the hose end out of the dirt. Comes with its own pouch and some spare parts which I have never needed. A great choice if within your budget.

A hand tight fitting has a teflon or white delrin insert in the tip of the nipple that enters the mouth of the valve exhaust. Nothing touches the threads but the female to male threads. Nothing to get damaged from the holes. ;)

I have 2 SCBA tanks one with a single gauge that only shows tank pressure and the other a Joe B set up with the dual gauges and the larger gauge is glycerin filled showing the fill pressure with good accuracy so you don't need to stare at the 1" gauge on your rifle while filling. Any fill station you fabricate should incorporate that design concept for safer filling of your PCP's. I use the single gauge tank to top off my 4500 PSI Guppy tank rather than connect it directly to my PCP's. I just feel there is less chance of overfilling my guns but that is just me.

I upgraded the gauge on mine back in June 2018 because the old Ninja gauge start reading way off,
this one is much bigger, more accurate and very easy to read. I compared it at the dive shop I've
been getting my tanks filled and he said it was real accurate comparing it to a super quality gauge.
