Shooting shed?

Hi,
I’m hoping some where on the Forum there is some info on building a shooting shed.Any help on locating it would be appreciated, or a referral to any sources. Looking to build something 2 can shoot out of. Guess I could just go the Garden shed drill and fix one up that way but was hoping to find some intel on what others may have done that had worked.
Thanks

That's a good idea.
I guess you could say I am a fair weather shooter. I shoot off my uncovered patio (
LOL, it's close to the fridge and coffee pot
).
From my patio I can shoot 60 yards straight back level terrain or 100 yds with a downward slope. If its raining I just don't shoot. If it's cold I put on a jacket plus my propane patio heater helps.
I have a 2'x2'x4' lockable metal box on the patio that houses all my shooting accessories and add some paper targets.
At the 20 yard out is the swing set/ fort where I have another 2'x1.5'x3' plastic truck tool box (
waterproof
) where I house additional paper targets, target backers (discarded political posters), and my metal reactive targets.
I store my metal target stands at 60 yds behind a large tree (
I'm wanting to get a garden tool shed for them soon
.)

If I remember right, our past Brother
Booger
had a nice shooting shed.
Equipped with power, A/C, and a KILLER stereo.
May want to do an "Advanced Search" with him as the author.
I miss
Jesse
, he was a real character.

I would go the pre-built wood garden shed. My BIL got a kit one time and it was minimalist at best on qty., quality, type materials. Junk. With the pre-built, you can customize, insulate, whatever. You mentioned 2 people, so you will need some size. Around here, there is places that sell them and have them all displayed. You know exactly what you are getting. They are not cheap ($) though. Wood cost have risen 2-300%.

I went with a poly shed, they are available in various styles and sizes, setup was less than a wooden structure, I have set and assembled these for past customers in larger sizes also. I'm still debating adding a gun port to the door.
I had originally was thinking a nice wood gazebo.

My concern with these sheds is visibility outward, for safety.
If you are deep inside the shed, as in HD's picture. You cannot see anyone approaching the shed from either side . . . until they appear in front of the open door.
Unless you live in COLD or WINDY conditions, I would prefer an open porch-like setup, so that no one can wander in front of the gun, without you seeing them coming.

Just make sure you have your range flag up, Who would walk onto a range with a flag up?

When I was growing up, and shooting in my backyard, NO ONE knew what a range flag was. And if they knew, they were likely to ignore it.
In fact my old range set up was definitely NOT safe, because I had one of those blind corners. As soon as someone came around the corner of the house, they were in the shooting lane.
Most people don't know what a gun REALLY sounds like (forget TV shows), so they would not know what the noise around the corner was from.
