Title: Edge 25V action to 1000x stock
Post by: unionrdr on January 17, 2019, 06:47:33 PM
Well, After winning that eBay auction for the new Edge 1000 .25 Vortex, I decided to see if the stories were true that the Edge & Striker actions were the same. They sure looked like it? So here then, is my video answer to that...

Don't need a video to tell me....lol. The Edge, Striker and 1000X rifles all have the same action. The only difference between them is the badging on them and the stocks are interchangeable. I have an Edge Vortex .22 mounted in a Striker wood stock.

The Webley Spector which you can still buy on Amazon also has the same action and the only difference is the badging and muzzle break. I have one mounted in another Striker stock I customized myself, then took my Edge .25 cal springer and dropped it into the Spector tactical stock after a bit of paint work and a coat of clear truck bed liner.

In order:
-Edge Vortex .22 in Striker stock
-Webley Spector in customized by me Striker stock
-Edge .25 springer in Webley Spector tactical stock

Didn't mention it because I actually forgot I sent that to you...lol. For what it's worth, the newer Webley Valuemax .177, .20 (which is no longer made) and .22 cal rifles with the single piece cocking arm will also interchange with all the above rifles. They still make and sell the .177 and .22 caliber versions of these.

Here's a list if it will help...the only difference between them is nothing more than the badging, muzzle breaks and stocks and the stocks are interchangeable between them all:
-All versions of the Hatsan Edge... Spring or Vortex including the Harvest Moon camo and Muddy Girl camo
-All versions of the Striker... Spring or Vortex
-All versions of the 1000X ...Spring or Vortex
-Webley Spector in either caliber, they come in .177 and .22
-Webley Valuemax in either caliber and as mentioned above, if you have the Valuemax in .20 with the one piece cocking arm, they also will

As far as I ever saw, it's a Striker 1000x or 1000s. Never saw the names separate before? But, thinking back, I believe it was you, Steve, that first told me about this?

Anymore it seems to depend on which website you're on. PA only shows one and calls it the Striker 1000S, S being the synthetic stock version and nothing else. Field Supply shows a couple versions of the Striker 1000S. Black and grey stock and one in camo and also shows the 1000X wood stock one. They also show what they list as just the Hatsan 1000 Vortex, no Striker in the name. I haven't actually checked any place else as yet but Field Supply seems to be the only place besides maybe Hatsan themselves that carries the wood stock versions.

For awhile when they first came out, the Edge was actually called the Striker Edge because of the pistol grip stock. Not actually sure when they dropped the Striker part and just started calling it the Edge, but they come in both spring and vortex versions and they also have them in both Harvest Moon camo (I have one although it now has my Vortex version rifle in it) and Muddy Girl camo but those 2 both only come in a spring version, no vortex.

I got mine at Midway USA a couple years ago for like 96 bucks.

Well, today I finally got around to cleaning the Edge .25 vortex after dropping it into the spare Striker 1000x stock with the new Centerpoint 3-9x40AO mildot scope from the GuideHawk NP. Again, an eBay auction win for $91.Wouldn't cock until after several strokes of the barrel, and then only after I started cleaning the bore. Had to hold the barrel open a bit to get the cleaning rod to clear the scope. Then I shot four H&N FTT's (19.91gr) through it. I'd say it's medium loud with these lighter pellets. Recoil is sharp and quick, but about average for a .25cal.
The box had a fist-size gash in it, around the thumbhole/trigger area. But no visible damage. I thought maybe the fact that it wouldn't cock right away was a result of that? Seems fine now though...

Today, the 1/2" drill bit with 1/4" shank finally arrived. Wind and snow have been playin' *(&^ with deliveries. But at least now I can get back to work on finishing the 95 stock to Striker 1000x conversion.

I need it to drill out the stepped front mounting bolt holes to fit the plugs I cut. Then in a couple days, I can put it through a lil shake down, then finish it.

After being forced to use one of 4-5 sets of the Gamo sight-through high-rise mounts temporarily, I bought some more of the .22 rimfire/air rifle Weaver Classic mid-rise rings. That Centerpoint 3-9x40AO mildot scope is slammed now! You could maybe slide a sheet of paper between the objective bell and action tube on this Edge 1000x now!
