Title: It was going so well!
Post by: jentry on March 14, 2017, 11:54:46 PM
The top left hole is my cold shot. The one above the group is shot 3 of 5. My monopod slipped and cost my HW97K and me a really nice 15yd group!

Well I say that monopod deserves a STERN Talking To !
Don't go easy on it !
You let it know that this will not be tolerated in the future, and if it happens again, it is going to get traded in on a Bipod or Tripod !
That'll teach it to straighten up and act right !
 ;)  ;)  ;) ;D  ;D  ;D :P  :P  :P

Join the club.
It takes 100% concentration from shot #1 to the completion of the last shot.
There is a saying that when you shoot a 60 shot match, you are not shooting a 60 shot match.  Rather, you are shooting 60, 1-shot matches.  EACH shot is important.  Flub a shot, and you could loose the match.

- With a monopod, you have 2 axis movement to manage; L/R and F/B
- With a bipod/shooting sticks, you have 1 axis movement; F/B
- With a bipod solidly attached to the rifle, you have 0 axis movement.
- With a tripod (or solid rest) you have 0/NO movement.

How you are position also makes a BIG difference
- standing
- standing braced
- seated
- seated braced
- on a shooting bench
