...It is a cheap rifle but I would like to know what can be done to improve it to the point where it is somewhat pleasurable to shoot.....Also, the trigger is awful!!
*I should note, none of this addresses the accuracy potential of the barrel, just the pleasantness and ease of shooting...Hope that helps, and good luck!!!
I totally disagree with the guy in the video about artillery hold. The other gun he shot was a FWB 300. It's like shooting a PCP, you can't miss. Heavier pellets can help. Good pellets help but they cost. Only thing I found a tin Crosmans are good for is a paper weight.Try this: don't put you thumb in the thumb hole. Lay the thumb close to the trigger safety button, hold the pistol grip lightly and it's like trying to squeeze the trigger finger and thumb together. On target, light hold, stop breathing, then 90%+ focus on trigger pull.Enjoy, no angst allowed. Tim.
David,I just had an idea. You may be able to get a cheap reduced power spring and piston seal from Mike Melick at Flying Dragon Air Rifles. You're rifle is very similar if not identical to the XS-25's he sells. He's a good guy and the master of the Chinese rifles. He will go out of his way to help you.http://flyingdragonairrifles.org/His contact information is at the bottom of the page. It's best to call him before 11am.Taso
Polish the spring ends. Make a piston sleeve out of a two liter bottle. If your spring guide is loose you can make a sleeve for it, too. Size the new piston seal. You may wish to button the piston. Check or polish the crown. Polish the bore.
