I haven't posted here in awhile! but I have an interest in buying 1 of these rifles again, I had 2 several years ago and sold them off, not I'm looking to get a bigger powered .177cal rifle to shoot the 10.5gn pellets out of, preferably the Crosman 10.5's due to their availability, I hope someone can shed some light on these pellets with this combination of rifle and accuracy, my plan is to short'in the barrel length and suppress it as much as I can, what is their build quality like these days? and how are the stocks? are they flimsy? any way looking foe imput from u guys on these, I haven't see 1 for yrs so I don't know what to expect
thanks guys for the cost of the B28 from Mike I think I will buy 1 to see what I can do with it!!!! I have spoke to some of my friends who have had both the Ruger and the XSB28 and they recommend the 28 version over the RAM, due to the wood stock, I do plan to chop the barrel and add a can! I will have the barrel choked and hope it will shoot the pellets I want it to? thanks for guy's imput this
Ya! the Ram is not a target gun by no means but it’s accurate enuff for hunting. I have mine shooting About 1 inch groups at 65 yards on a good day. I agree with you on the barrel quality. The bore on mine is oversized and performs best with a 5.54 head pellet. I don’t know if this is typical of all air gun barrels. I would think a more expensive gun would have a better barrel.
I have Fang who does all my barrel work now, I asked him about these rifles the RAM and the XSB28, he told me he's done a few of them recently, and he's the 1 who did the last 2 RAM barrel chops for me, I didn't have the last 2 choked I don't think? can't remember? any hoo the reviews on Utube don't look promising on the type of accuracy I'm looking for that said Fang told me the last few rifles he's done were very accurate but he also short stroked and de tuned these rifle as well as chopping the barrels and choking them! I'm just not sure if it worth the gamble or not to spend the money on 1 again!
