Here is a group I shot at 50 yards with my Avenger .22 with JSB Monsters @ 850 fps.Reg is at 2000 and hammer spring is 2.5 turns in.

Yes around that 825-850 fps zone is where I want to be to get the most shots I can with the power that I want and use the ballistic coefficient of the pellet to do the rest !What do you fill your gun up to may I ask, do you fill to around 4200psi or a bit less ? How many shots do you think you get ?Thank you againwll

I get 60 shots on the regulator.Just this weekend I backed off the hammer spring 3/4 turn and the gun settled down a lot. Lost a little velocity but gained some accuracy and a lower ES and SD. Shot count stayed about the same however.
That's what we are here for.Help each other out with out own personal experiences. Please share your results and don't hesitate to ask more questions.I shot my Avenger .22 with a variety of pellets this weekend with really good accuracy for a $300 gun.I think that, that is something that alot of people lose sight of with all the "hype" and marketing that Air Venturi put into the Avenger platform, it's easy to forget that it is an inexpensively mass-produced Chinese rifle...It definitely shoots above its price tag, but it also never let's you forget what it actually is...Anyway here is a picture of some 75 yard groups with a 10 mph wind out of my 4-5 o'clock that was gusting to 15mph.I am by no means at the level of many of the shooters on this forum, but I don't think that it's too shabby.
William,You probably know but be sure to degass your Avenger(s) before turning the regulator down. I have a 25 caliber and set my regulator at 1800 before ever shooting it. Unfortunately the gun leaked at first but AV repaired it under warranty. I got useful velocity at 1800 but later turned it up in stages ending at 2400 psi. The velocity at 2400 was only slightly higher than at 2100 so I degassed and turned it back down. I am shooting 25.4 grain FX pellets at about 930 fps. I tested Benjamin, H&N and JSB pellets before settling on the FX (made by JSB). I did not get good groups with anything other than JSBs. This seems to be pretty barrel dependent. Your gun(s) may or may not like Crosmans. They are a decent inexpensive pellet to try but I would plan on testing others too.Jim
