This one is just polyurethane varnish over bare maple.
Whats everyone's opinion on refinishing the stock on these. I think with some darker stain it would look amazing?

I used a darker stain on it but didn't let it sit too long. I'm pretty sure I finished it with Tung Oil. I was happy with the results.The wood grain on the 60's and early 70's Crosman's were really nice.Cheers!Rich

I didn't overload it and wiped it off quickly,then 3 coats of Tru-Oil, (according to my post I ran out of Tru-Oil) and finished it up with 3 coats of Tung Oil. It was sanded bare and finished with 220 grit. Cheers!Rich
