I just bought a house on 113 acres and need airguns like a hole in the head. That said I've been privy to a 275 acre cattle ranch where I could shoot anything I wanted. Given the inexpensive pre covid ammo options I still enjoyed shooting my 177 Hw30s the most. Tins and tins of pellets were shot over a weekend. People were fighting over who got to shoot it next. That's partly why I bought three of them.
What is the difference between the HW30 and the Beeman R7? Which one should I buy?I have 9 break barrels, but I cannot shoot any of them accurately.Should I buy one of these or just give up on break barrels. Is one more accurate?
What is the difference between the HW30 and the Beeman R7?
For mine the magic pellet is the AA Falcon 7.33g. Indoors the Meister wadcutter 8.2 seem best. But I haven’t opened the tin of 7.0 yet.

Only difference is the names on them, Weihrauch vs Beeman..lol.I have 2 Beeman R7's, newer one in .177 I got from fellow member Marc and an older one in .20. Pellet that shoots the best so far in my .177 I can't recommend since they're no longer made. 2nd best so far are the RWS R10 Match Heavy 8.2 gr.

The extreme spread is way too high. Most likely the piston seal is bad. What pellets are you using for the test?
A few outside the group stats - maybe dividual pellet skirt or fit problems ?

Even using your higher ranges you're a little low on power. Meisterkugeln are good pellets and usually have a consistent fit. There's something wrong with the gun. If you peel it apart you'll probably find a seal that looks like these. Is this a new gun?
It's not a dirty job. But you need to be good with tools and mechanical things. The PG4 kits sometimes rub on the cocking arm foot. It's something that isn't as drop in as advertised. I've done a bunch of them. Some are easy, some require tweaking to make right. The thing to look out for with the Hw30 is the cocking arm foot peeling up slivers of steel off the outer guide. A dremel and a sanding roll will fix this. Putting them together several times test fitting the cocking arm foot clearance is time consuming. The kits are otherwise excellent. A simpler install might be an ARH kit. Lots of people here are very happy with them. I haven't used one yet so I can't personally vouch for them. I can tell you that the Vortek kits require some ability to get a good working product. On a different note the Vortek seals are much better than factory and the ARH seals. I've used all of the them several times. I think if you combine a Vortek piston seal and a ARH kit you'll have no problems and be very happy. Just be sure to deburr the compression tube. Especially the cocking arm slot.Reach out to me by pm if you want the minutia details.Be wellRon
