Within the HW30/R7's effective range they will shoot like a PCP in my experience. PCP's can, of course, generally be pushed out much further easier. I know we are in an age of PCP air guns and with falling costs and the inherent capabilities they offer you would think they would be a no brainer. For me, however, I will take a good spring gun every time and the HW30/R7 all day every day. I have a couple PCPs that I enjoy very much but not nearly as much as my HW30's. Pretty gun, enjoy it.Chris
Keep on shooting and keep on enjoying, they really do just get better and better
Nice rifle!!And if you become addicted (and you will) as most of us are, that will not be the only HW30 that you will own. You will want one with open sights, and then move on to other of the HW series.Enablers UNITE!!Have fun!! Send us some target pics.
I know, aren't they the finest? R7 HW30LOL! PCP your pants! You just grab your 7/30 and enjoy it. Anywhere, anytime.
One can never own enough HW's.At least I can't (obviously).

It’s only a problem if you go to meetings. Don’t be a quitter. .
"debating on whether to get max air35. Or go with cheap $600 for filling guns. No brainer indeed.
Ok back my target range 16yards lol
We have a vintage Discovery, too, not to mention some much more expensive and amazing PCPs. Very much enjoy the PCPs, but it took buying a nice compressor to shoot them often enough to justify keeping them. We still shoot the springers more than PCP, though, and have a nice collection. The HW30 is our most used springer. Still hard to beat the grab and go shoot feature of springers, no pumping, no checking shots left and so on. Just keep shooting as long as you want with every shot in the same fps ballpark. Love it.
