I'd say by the looks of it that for the 22's AEA needs to do some re-engineering to get them to work like they should My 25 cal carbine never gives me double feeds like that.
David, I would reach out to the seller again, if the new poppet doesn't fix it. I'm sure they have more experience dealing with the quirks that these guns have. IMHO the .22, .25, and .30 are all built/machined identically so the .22 is overpowered, the .25 is about right, and the .30 is slightly underpowered. IIRC you were having a double shot issue before your poppet failed. Does it seem the same, better, or worse since you refaced the poppet?Strange that you have double feed issues at full pressure. I and most people have issues with the bolt not cycling to reload the next pellet. I have to get below 24MPa before my bolt cycles reliably. It's a single shot until it does.I did see some other videos with people having the issue of not cycling and loading a pellet. One had swarf from a pellet down in the toggle pin area on the trigger that was stopping it. The other had a slightly bent bolt that was not allowing it to cycle and reload.Still hoping you get it fuctioning properly.
Ken, you'll have to try a peek poppet in yours, I'm told they take less hammer to open and I'll bet that is what you are experiencing. I did have some issues before the poppet went but that was failure to feed. Now it's double feed so I think it's getting too much air via too long a poppet stem. I think others with FTF issues are also hammer springs, I see videos of washers being added to remedy this.
I just got me an AEA carbine semi in 22 cal. So far, so good, but I'd love to see pictures of any poppets guys are making as it sounds like I will be doing so eventually. I've got a mini lathe which should turn them out just fine. Fun gun.Troy

Fun gun.TroyJust pull yours out and make some copies. Lot's of YT videos on how to install and takes about 10 minutes. I recommend peek or pei. Easily made on a lathe. Attaching it to the pin might be a little more difficult, as it is a press fit. I forgot to take pics when I pulled mine. It is definitely a FUN gun.
NOT a fun gun for me right now, the new poppet not did not fix the double shots but it also no longer cycles... at all. I think it needs to go back and get replaced. I have yet to have a full magazine cycle out of this gun.

If you bought it from Bin at ThePelletShop, he pays postage both ways within the first 45days. Hope you get a shooter, because it is a fun gun. One last suggestion, make sure it's below 3500 PSI, mine won't cycle at anything over 24MPa. Keep everyone posted on your outcome.
I knocked out 6 ground squirrels today with my 22 carbine and crossman domes. However, one of the mag springs slipped so I had to fix it when I got home.Hopefully this does not become an issue. I got three mags of full cycling today. I have not cleaned the gun as of yet. Accuracy from a crude bench at 50 yards in 3mph wind was 1 7/8" for 12 shots with crossman pellets and 2 1/8" for 12 shots with jsb 18's. Lots more testing to come. Still a very fun gun...and sits nicely on the passenger seat in my work rig.
David, what is your fill pressure? I know I can't air mine up to 24MPa, about 3500PSI. Once I get it below 24MPa it will start to cycle and then after another clip it cycles fine.It sounds like a totally different issue now. When I was researching the double feeds, I came across some videos where the bolt was not cycling. One was pellet swarf down in the trigger group pin that wasn't allowing the trigger to "toggle" properly. Another was a slightly bent hammer pin. I know you were playing with "blocking" some of the holes on the blow back disc. Also you were trying adjust the gap on the distance between the blow back disc and the plunger on the barrel. I found this video last night on complete take down on an AEA SS model. It's very comprehensive and in depth with good video and audio quality.
