Dan I'm not familiar with the Walther. I guess it doesn't have a receptacle for a recoil pin? I assume that you degreased the mounts and dovetails with denatured alcohol or brake cleaner? I never had a problem with the T04Cs or even T02Cs when installed correctly with the recoil pin. They even held on my R1 when it was wickedly over sprung. I guess there's a first time for everything. In any event I'm glad they're replacing your rings.Stay cool
Dan it looks like the pin wasn't engaged enough.. That's why it plowed the top of the hole. Before you set the scope in the ring. Set the ring in the dovetail over the hole and tap the roll pin down to the bottom of the hole. Loosen the ring slide it back until the pin is up against the hole. Then tighten that ring to 55 in lbs. Then set the front ring in the appropriate place. Snug the front dovetail tail clamp place. Lay the scope in place. Set your eye relief and plum and snug the ring caps. Tighten the front dovetail clamp now to 55 in lbs and then the ring caps to 16..

The pin was deep enough as you can see in this picture. The instructions you noted above were followed exactly. The hole elongated as the rear mount began to lift off of the receiver. The scope fell to the ground.

If it's a dovetail compatibility issue you may need to find another solution. Hopefully others with Parrus' chime in with a solution.
