Okay-so I bought a .22 LR liner from Numrich-upon receipt the first thing I noticed was that I'd swear it was a piece of rifled brakeline... Secondly; it is a 1/4" shorter than the 26" advertised... But that's not what bothers me-it's not straight. I'm not talking it's got a bow-it's mildly kinked up; nothing abrupt but looking down the OD and rotating it contrasted against a bright background it is definitely noticeable... Compound bends; not quite a uniform corkscrew. Hard to judge the ID; can say that it has a bow to it at the minimum...Haven't cleaned the bore yet-the lands seem smooth enough; but the grooves look like they might be a little rough in spots... Will update once I've cleaned it up...So-for those who have handled such things-normal; or did I get ripped off? Jesse
Yes and no.Send it back, its not supposed to be bent BUT thin liners are bedded into barrels with solder or Acraglas and the drilled barrel is super tight and that eliminates a lot of bend. Some Smiths like to bed heavy and they need a super straight barrel, most sweat solder all the up or down the seam until it blossoms on the other end. I would have no issues with lining an old .22lr with it as is but for your purposes, I would have gone with the Brownells liner myself but it may be the very same liner in the end.

Thanks-I *may* decide to keep this one, as it is a slightly smaller OD than the Redman's liner from Brownells; which is partly why I got it, and also may be it's saving grace... Reason being, I have a 24" piece of 1/2" OD DOM tube that this is an almost perfect "tunking" fit in-probably too tight to fully seat... Though I can adjust the fit with some careful sanding... So perhaps it will straighten out well enough... So I will get the benefit of a press fit of sorts, not just using bushings in a shroud on this...Would that make you feel more inclined to give it a shot?... Might try to put it on the surface plate, and get some kind of measurement of the bend-it's so hard to guess at just how bad it is...Also noticed that there was no markings specifying the breech end... Though slugging the bore ought to help determine that...Jesse
If you have a large enough window and some feeler gauges, you can get an idea how ‘bent’ it is. Just note, if you have a pretty close tolerance and are using loctite, go FAST! It will set before you get to the other end. That’s the voice of experience talking. Lol. Numrich is hit/miss. They generally just sell overruns, used, or going out of business type stuff (and of course surplus military). Dave
Run a loose dry patch from each end, you will IMEDIATELY know what end the button was pulled from. The trick is knowing if the gun will be more accurate with the pellet facing the burrs or going with the burrs. You never get that option with barrels, they pull the button from breech to crown.

Not an airgun thing so I'll refrain from posting the video but Matt at Demolition ranch did a 180 degree turn on a gun. It still fired!

That is the corkscrew bend had no effect on trajectory.
Loctite has worked fine in all the pb builds I’ve used it on. 22-38cal. I’m serious about the time you have to get it installed. Twice I’ve had to shorten my target length.
