I have a Beeman R1 and it has some dull spots on the stock don't really know what type of finish it is so I tried wood wax to try to put the shine back but didn't really do anything, any tips that would help? Thank you

You’ll have to make few more posts before you can post pictures. I think the minimum is like ten?
Is the finish flaking anywhere? That’s a sure sign it’s poly. Wax finished hard wood can shine as glossy as poly so take the butt pad off and look at the end of the stock. If it’s poly there is usually a little overpaint on this part of the stock and it will be noticeable. For wax finishes I use a mixture of 1 part Linseed oil, 1 part turpentine, and 1 part beeswax. Heat it in the microwave until the wax melts. When cool it looks and feels like soft soap. Two to three applications to the bare spot over a couple of weeks is usually enough. Good for waterproofing leather and polishing furniture too!
