Exactly right and what Gamo told me when I asked what they use in their "IGT" rams...just plain old air.
Good to know. It makes perfect sense that temperature affects velocity of a gas ram and moreso for plain air.But elevation differences might affect a gas ram less than a springer? A springer will shoot slower at higher elevation, due to thinner air in the compression cylinder. At least I believe this is the case. I've seen the results of people who have tested this. A gas ram might do this slightly less, because the higher the elevation, the higher the relative pressure in the cylinder, so the more springy it gets?I mean, if you took a gas ram to the bottom of the Mariana trench in a submarine, maybe the pressure would get so high in that submarine that the gasram would go limp and barely have any spring to it, anymore?
