I've got a d48 springer in.177 and would like to put a red dot on it but I'm leary of it being able to last. I don't shoot it very much but don't want to have to have the red dot fail. Any body had good luck with a red dot on a magnum springer that's not more than$60?

I had a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot on a Crosman Mag fire nitro piston gun. It worked fine for my shooting of 50 yds and closer. It was a 3 MOA dot. I think a 5 MOA dot would be too big. It's all about how much you pay just like scopes. I now just got a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 red dot 2 MOA. I like it a lot better than the 3 MOA and of course it's more money and better quality. I am going to be using it on a PCP since I moved up to them.
A word of caution on buying a red dot or scopes. There are fakes being sold on both. I ordered my Romeo off Ebay and was sent a fake. I only discovered it by seeing a YouTube video about fake Romeo 5's. I was able to get my money back through Ebay thank God. I did get a real one direct from Sig Sauer after giving them the info on the scammer off Ebay. If the price is super cheap there's a reason for it.
