Mendoza rifles have slowly become an area of interest for me as of late after picking up a secondhand RM600 a couple months back. These were fairly cheap imports a few years ago but the supply seems to have dried up. While the rifles are by no means polished pieces, I really like many aspects of them including the almost entirely metal construction, slightly clunky stocks which have a beautiful wood grain and finish, and the double trigger is very neat.
I recently picked up a RM577, contracted for Crosman. This thing is really a beauty, the stock has a lighter finish and more open grain than most other Mendoza's I've seen. The trigger is not on the the standard double bladed type, just a single blade with a decent pull and snap release. The Mendoza peep sight is very capable, though the aperture piece on my example is slightly bent), and though twangy, the rifle packs a punch. And this thing is LONG, at least 48" long tip to tail.

I just purchased one off of a Hoosierdaddy at the Findlay toys that shoot.

I have an RM600 with the dual blade trigger. Mendoza's are a bit on the utilitarian side but well made. And mine is accurate, too.

I own 3. They seem to have gone the way of the Norica rifles. Loss of interest by US buyers so the couple retailers
who did carry them stopped.
In order:
-The Made by Mendoza for Crosman RM577 with factory peep sight I bought a few years back from Rocker1.
-Mendoza Golden Scorpion .22 although it also says RM-3000 on the stock. Sold it to a friend who ended up disliking
those double triggers, made good on the promise I made and bought it back no questions asked.
-Mendoza Blackhawk .22. Girlfriend bought it for me just about 4 years ago. Still have her and the rifle :)

Double blade triggers
Mendoza made Hammerli X2 (RM2003) .177/.22 dual cal. The barrels slide into a shroud from the front after un-screwing the muzzle break.
" RM2800 break barrel .22 repeater. Tube magazine on top of receiver. Gray right hand thumb hole stock.
" RM2000 " " " " in a F23 dark gray ambi thumb hole stock. Gave the F23 in the plain T.H. stock to a friend.
" Golden Scorpion RM 3000 .22, ambi. wood thumb hole.
" RM600 .177 break barrel.
Single blade triggers
Mendoza made Crosman RM377 .177. Guy I got it from removed the sights and scoped it.
" " " RM577 .177. Seller remove the sights, add a metal muzzle break, painted the stock dark gray and scoped it.
" " Tech Force M12 .177 Marketed by Pyramyd Air. Came with no sight and muzzle weight.
They still make these with slight changes but also have a new line of gas rams with sigle blade trigger and a safety in the trigger guard like a Crosman.

Many moons ago, a 'state-wide sporting goods store bought (I think) the remaining stock of the RM377 guns.
At that time, they were family owned and every Thursday had a 'secret' sale for their special email customers.
They blew them out at $50 each--for those "special" customers.
A friend and I bought 10 of them and resold them to friends. I think... it was the best $50 I spent all decade!
You know, now that I think about it -- that RM377 was what re-ignited my airgun addiction!
Beautiful wood, solid metal parts, VERY accurate and a ton of fun to shoot!
I still have mine and take it out every couple of months...just to keep the lube moving around ;)

Its too dark in my house and too late in the day to get a more fitting picture but here she is. This one here is helping me understand the allure of a good springer.

Matt, I can't see the trigger but with no blue spacer between the stock and recoil pad it looks loke a Mendoza/Mendoza.
We all read about longer or shorter barrels being best for springers. Mendozas have long barrels but only 9 to 10 inches is rifled and the rest is bored out bigger.

It is a double trigger and it is bored out as you have described.

This is an excellent showing fellas! Glad to see that there is some appreciate for these guns from down south.
Anyone now of any parts availability? My RM577 seems to be in fine shape, except for that aperture piece. But in case anything breaks, it would be nice to know if there are replacements out there or not.

Pyramyd has some but not many Mendoza parts.

Rick at Precision Pellet? JG Airguns? I'd say Baker Airguns and they might but anymore seem aimed at the PCP market.
Least he can tell you is no, they don't repair and carry no parts.
From another forum, it was said the machinery used to make the Mendoza peeps was damaged and never repaired or replaced,
so unless you're crazy lucky, you may not be able to find one.

Not all of them are bored out... I have 2 of them in .177. Both are 'Made for Crosman'. Both are in original stock configuration (aside from lighter torsion trigger springs installed by me). One is not bored out at all... rifling extends all the way to the muzzle. The other is bored 3" <> into the muzzle.
I once had pics showing the muzzles but I seemed to have lost them... I'll take new pics if I can remember.

Bill, I just looked at my two Crosman/Mendozas. The 577 barrel is 18.5" long and bored out 4.5" with 14" rifled. The 377 barrel is 16" with 4.5" bored and 11.5" rifled.
My RM 3000 Golden Eagle is 2.25" from the front of the muzzle break to the end of the barrel then bored out 2.25" and 14.25" rifled.
MY RM600 Barrel and muzzle break are 18.5" long with 12.5" rifled. Hard to tell where the muzzle break ends and barrel starts.

There's a Crosman 377 for sale on ebay with a 422 box. But $300. Good picture of the old fashion slider rear sight they use to put on Mendozas and the hooded front sight they put on the Crosmans.
