Hi,
I recently replaced the piston seal on the Gamo Replay 10x Magnum IGT 5.5mm
Also cleaned, polished and lubed the trigger block.
When I assembled everything back together, the barrel did not snap into place.
It does not stay horizontal but it drops a bit until the cocking resistance of the gas ram stops it.
I am not sure why, maybe I lost a part during the procedure.
If you look at the picture, the red arrow points to a part that looks like the 'tongue' of a house
door. In the schematics there is a spring behind that, so I assume that this is responsible
for the barrel locking somehow. The thing is that I do not see where this lock can push against,
that is why I assume that I lost a part. Maybe it is something else.
Any GAMO experts that can help?

Having never seen one I won't qualify as a Gamo expert. The latching mechanism on a break barrel is usually a spring loaded wedge adjacent to the breech opening. The spring is very stiff. On many guns it may be removed only by applying pressure to it and pushing a hollow tube out of the pivot hole. When the tube is removed pressure on the wedge can be released and it will come out along with the spring. Sometimes this spring may become tired and no longer hold the wedge securely. If you did not remove the barrel as part of your maintenance program the latch mechanism (which Crosman calls the alive jam) should be intact. The wedge, when the barrel is closed, grabs under either a small rod or a matching wedge in the body of the gun just aft of the breech.

I did remove the barrel but I did not work on the barrel at all.
Is it possible for the wedge to fall out by itself or does it need a lot of force?
Not easy to find any information on these magnums.
Even the available diagrams are very poorly done.

The wedge should be unable to fall out on its own. Is it still in place? Is it really hard to press it in? There should be quite a bit of spring pressure behind it. If you removed the barrel it is possible the side washers which support the barrel are out of alignment.

Assuming this is similar to your rifle, the lockup is pretty simple. The spring loaded wedge locks against the rod between the forks (see marked dwg red circles). There is likely a missing part or it is not assembled correctly. I believe the barrel pivot sleeve locks the spring loaded wedge in place on some Gamo rifles. During disassembly you may have pulled this sleeve and lost the spring(?) or maybe the wedge is not properly installed. It is usually difficult to remove the pivot sleeve and the wedge spring is very strong so reassembly requires some effort.
I've never seen the locking "rod" fall out of any of my break barrels that use this mechanism. The rod is usually staked-into the forks and will not come out easily.

I've lost the pin that the wedge locks against. ::)

Something else. I have also disassembled the trigger group in order to clean it,
polished the sears and lubed it. I think I've put everything back together correctly,
but a second opinion is welcomed. Very important, because imagine having a faulty
trigger group with the rifle stuck in the cocked position... :o

Heres a tip..
Take pictures befor and as you dissemble .
Then if you need reassembly referance you have it. Keep removed parts strug out in order there removed .
Then its not like gamo is end-user self fix friendly to start..

Based on my experience with many OTHER trigger groups that are basically similar copies(clones) of your trigger, it looks like you have it assembled correctly.
I've learned the HARD WAY to NEVER let go of the barrel when loading pellets AND ALWAYS keep the muzzle pointed in a "safe" direction when returning the barrel to lockup.
Had a couple surprise fires when I was a break-barrel newb making trigger adjustments/modifications. No injuries or permanent damage, but I want to KEEP IT THAT WAY!
Please use caution after any break-barrel servicing and/or modifications.
