Are these Sparrows???
Tweeter:
This morning I watched a bird attack another bird and chase it away and when it landed I noticed it was a short, rather pudgy brown bird. I assumed it was a sparrow only because I've never seen any other bird act so aggressive. When I was young my Aunt had horses and a barn and I remember the sparrows would dive bomb us when we got too close lol.
Anyway, I was ready to wax that sparrow the next time it showed it's fat little face until I found this nest in my woodshed. Now it makes since why it was chasing off the other birds. Can anyone tell me if these are baby pests or not? The only camera I have is my cellphone and I couldn't get close enough to Mama bird to take a picture but it did have a black beak...
Mods, feel free to move this post if it's in the wrong gate. I didn't know where to post it.

They are swallows, they are good birds to have around. They can eat their weight in mosquitoes. The dull brown one is the mother.

This is a house sparrow.

Thanks kris. I did look up some photos but couldn't really tell because I never got a real close up look at the adult. Glad I found the nest before I killed the poor thing!

The first pic of the Sparrow with black on the neck and chest is a male. The 2nd pic is a female sparrow. There is a big difference as you can tell between the male and female Sparrow.
I just looked up Swallows. I did not know there were that many different kinds (Barn swallow, Tree swallow, Cliff swallow, Cave, Bank, etc.) and that they can be so colorful! There are some swallows that always come back every summer and hang out at a large truck stop I drive by a few miles from here, but I can never get close to them to distinguish the colors. They just look dark colored from 40 yards out like most birds, but I can see their shape, wings, and tail and know they are swallows. Their tail is scissor-like. This place is just a huge parking lot, and you can tell they are chasing/eating mosquitoes by the way they turn and zig-zag almost like bats. They are pretty fast birds. I also see them resting on top of the tractor trailers. I think mosquitoes get attracted by the heat of the truck engines running, and also the external refrigerator/compressors that also run when the trucks are left there, which is why the swallows are always there.
