I am filling it with a scuba tank with a good blast to close the valve in theory. I have the valve apart right now in front of me. The poppet on the sealing face has an under cut for lack of a better word. Since it held at least some air when I received it, I suspect it should still be capable of sealing up tight. The previous owner claimed to have used "pipe dope" to seal the leaking bleed screw and also had stated that he had installed the reg backwards. The regulator is in correctly now and the spacer is correct. With the airtube out of the gun, poppet stem is protruding about .138" / 3.53 mm. The bleed screw is out and it appears to have a bearing buried deep and I can not get it out with a strong magnet. I have used a lupe and bright light to try to see what is up in the bleed screw hole. Can I just loctite this bleed screw hole and pretend it never existed ?Edit.. I knew it was jacked up when I bought it, I wanted a winter project and I guess I got one. They are good looking, lightweight guns. It's like a poor mans Dreamline.
Yes, I just tried to reassemble and fill. Full speed air leak out of transfer port ( airtube out of receiver ). The poppet seems to seal against an insert pressed into the endcap. The poppet stems protrudes though what looks like carburetor jet. The poppet is dark (blackish) and feels and sounds synthetic, like ceramic almost. Under the lupe, the sealing face looks good, can't view with mating face inside the endcap but it seems clean. The poppet spring is preloaded by an adjustable spring stop. Is it possible the previous owner screwed the bleed screw so tight it deformed the valve body ? I need to stop buying used Chinese guns. Why can't I be rich instead of so darn cynical.
I won't sell it, it's compromised.

this isn't inspiring confidence in tearing mine apart. Was never all that impressed with the gun, but kept telling myself, "at least it holds air." Now that it's leaking, I'm ready to put it into the closet next to the Stormrider that I've also given up on. No more cheap guns for me either.
